DWP employment waiting list

Just contacted Disc Scotland and been told they do not have any record of a request for me.
Has anyone been in this situation? Any suggestions as to the next step?
Thanks.
I finally got through to the guy that is doing my recruitment checks this afternoon. He said that everyone in my group (Southampton tests in april) is still waiting. He said that they wait for a bunch to pass the checks - and so far they are all ongoing.
I mentioned that Dscotland hadnt received my form, and the answer is that they do the recruitment checks first and then if you pass those, then they send the forms off. Suppose it makes sense, as it costs money for the Disclosure Scotland (I paid £20 for mine for a job i was offered before.)
Not sure if this is the same process nationwide, but it seems to be the case in hants, so it could be the case elsewhere. He said it would be at least a couple of weeks to hear anything but everyone else in my selection are in the same boat. I have heard they have contacted one of my personal refs, so things are moving. its just slow.
Hope that helps!!!;)0 -

I was asked if my disclosure had arrived at my home address - I replied that I put the Newcastle address on my form as the guide leaflet had advised, and therefore not had the form arrive at home. Maybe not everyone did this, and she was ready to give me the correct address to send the form back to if it did arrive at home.
I've completed three disclosure forms now, and were it not for the clear instructions I recieved on the first occasion re: putting the Newcastle address in the reply section I may have put my home address instead.
Mind you, at least the people who did put their own address know that the checks have taken place, whether or not it delayed the process by a few days!
I got different instructions at different interviews, as you said; at least I know that one disclosure has been completed because it came to my home address, I scanned and emailed it to Newcastle same day it arrived here (22/05) and followed up with a phone call to confirm they did not need the original.
I do know that the person dealing with my applications in Newcastle was on holiday for the following week so this has probably put the EO applications in Wolverhampton and Coventry back a bit further!0 -

I got that same call today. Have you been given a start date or any further information? I've receved a letter 5 days ago saying I had been succesful in the interview and that checks would be taking place. I then called Newcastle and was told that checks were being done on the first 50 and im not in the first 50.
Im asuming that i wont be offered a position for a whle yet0 -

No, not heard anything else directly from them since my letter on 7th May. At the time I was around 25th on the list (but joint 25th, meaning there could be more joint positions above me). Since then they've run mop up interviews at Fairview on 17th May (see previous posts) so I could be further down by now??
So if, as you say, they are doing checks on the first 50 that should take quite a while - I'd wager that nobody will hear anything until they are all done. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.0 -
I was successful for 2 AO posts in greater manchester back in March!!. One IRC was 57186 or 57176 I think. Just wondered if anyone else has any more info on these posts.
I have been in touch with Newcastle and they are not very helpful at all. I sent them my CRB and that came back last week but I was hoping it would accompany an offer. Sadly, it didn't.
I am now at my wits end. It has been 3 months and no sign of acceptance. I can't believe they offer people jobs only to put them on a waiting list which may lead nowhere. Sorry for sounding so pessimistic but could really do with some good news..
Hi Amar - I'm in the Manchester area too and received a successful/waiting list letter on the 20th April for an EO post IRC 57875. Apart from receiving a call from a very confused lady in Manchester HR a couple of weeks ago I've heard nothing - she was asking about CRB forms I'd filled in at the interview - Newcastle knew nothing whatsoever about her.
I'd go through the calls etc I've made with them but it's pretty pointless - nobody there seems to know their **** from their elbow. I've had one referee receive a reference request and not another (this was weeks ago) and the whole thing is simply shambolic and deeply depressing.
Edit: just spoke to a very helpful chap at Disclosure Scotland and was told that they had received my CRB request on 20th May and sent it back on the 27th May - so something is moving.
Also - there was a recorded message when I first called stating that DSs response times were now back within their SLA - I assume this means that they are now getting their checks back out within 5 days.0 -

Yes, one forgets that it's an office just like any other we've worked in, and holidays will be kicking in from now on...plus it's pot luck whether other staff have time to answer the phone in their absence.:think:0 -
Just rang Newcastle with ref to the Wolves posts and was told the checks havent come back yet. Funny that I was emailed on the 19/5 to say my checks had cleared.0

Hi mom and co,
My successful letter was dated 15/05, but they didn't actually post the CRB application to Dis Scotland until the 28/05, so don't worry. When you next phone Newcastle ask for a contact in the checking team for whatever your region is and you'll find them far more helpful with the process.
Good luck!0 -
Best of British
Since reading your original post I have contacted Newcastle and discovered that I am on a waiting list. My 'success' letter gave no mention of waiting lists so this was disappointing.
They told me that they were taking on 27 'merit' applicants (which I assume includes you). Anyway, well done to be in the preferred group. I would be interested to hear whether or not the job is to your liking once you've settled in.0
