DWP employment waiting list

Can anyone answer my question on commuting, I am obviously looking to save as much money as possible so would love feedback.
I am going to be commuting from Grimsby to Lincoln daily, I have calculated car costs to be around 9 - 10 pound per day, however parking isnt provided so I will also have to pay approx £7 per day parking.
The alternative is train, same travel time, £49 a week using a season ticket so approx £10 per day. This can come down to about £40 per week if I buy a yearly ticket (£1960) but no chance of that atm, lol
Does anyone have any other ideas or know of any cheap parking in lincoln around Brayford Area.0 -
Hi Shaun
Don't know about Lincoln but I commuted into Nottingham and used park and ride for 3 years, 70 mile round trip in total and if I could have gone by train I would have. You need to remember wear and tear on your car as well and after a day's work a long drive is the last thing you need.
Good luck with the job,I'm still waiting for a start date.0 -

Hi I went for the EO interviews in Foresight on 16th May. I never received my invitation to interview in April (which apparently they sent out). Anyway, like you I was part of the EO "mop u" interviews. They said at that point there were 115 on the merit list from the original April interviews. I rang up on Tuesday, last week and they said I was on the list and would be in the first batch to be posted (around 60). I received my successful letter yesterday subject to pre-recruitment checks. If you haven't received your letter yet, ring up and ask if they can tell you over the phone. If they say you have to wait for the letter as everyone needs to be informed at the same time (as they said to me), say you know others from the same exercise have already been informed (as I did) - they then told me. GOOD LUCK and let us know how you got on.0 -

Once you start work you can apply for an advance for a season ticket -it is then deducted from your salary in 12 monthly payments0 -
wondering how long the heo waiting list will be, the email gave no indication.0

I received a phone call about 15 minutes ago offering me a position.
Anyone else got offers for the Central London AO positions? I had to decide then and there which location I wanted to work at. Didn't really have much time to think. I asked her if I could change it later on and she said I needed to decide at that very moment. Eeeek.
Said she would email me the details etc. Haven't recieved anything yet lol.
Congratulations Aoki, that's good news :T Hopefully this means the rest of us waiting for Central London positions should hear something soon.0 -
Hi everyone. I had an interview on 29th April and recieved a letter on 11th May saying ive been sucessful and theyre doing checks etc but not heard anything since. Did anyone else have an interview in Southampton for the AO position and have they heard anything yet?0

I have received an email from DWP to say I succeeded in my AO interview. There is no mention of a waiting list, so does this mean I will be one of the first recruited after checks? The following is the email I received, is this the standard email/letter that people on the waiting list have also received? Could others post the emails they've received? Thanks and good luck to everyone still waiting!
"Dear ********
I am delighted to inform you that you have successfully completed the selection process for Jobcentre Plus.
The competition has been vigorous and you have performed to a very high standard, well done!
We are now undertaking pre-recruitment checks and you will be contacted again once these are complete to confirm whether or not we are able to offer you a post."

You prob have made it throught the first batch of people and if checks come back ok - you should get offered a post! (fingers crossed)
If it was waiting list - they would have said we will contact you again when we need you for checks! - but different areas work in diff ways - some areas every 1 gets checks done and den waiting list! its diff and depends!
Well done!0 -

Thanks very much! I just hope that they get in touch soon as I really want this job. I messed up my first interview because I wasn't sure of the questions they were going to ask and I was weak in two competencies, so luckily I was completely prepared for the next interview.0
