    Hi,

I think you should hear something very soon. I got a copy of my CRB back yesterday and got a phone call today. As far as I know my personal references haven't been contacted. The woman just said all the checks are done and offered me a start date of 15th June.

The locations she offered were Kentish Town, Finsbury Park, Barnsbury and the most central-Denmark street off Tottenham Court Road ( this one wasn't customer facing though). I felt kind of rushed to make a decision. I don't know if I should have picked the none customer facing now. She said that would entail working with employers only.

They actually don't have positions available in Marylebone which is where I had my interview.

I've been waiting over an hour for the email to arrive. Confirming the details etc. Lol. To be honest the lady really did sound a bit confused. So I'm a bit worried....

Thanks very much for the info. Denmark Street would be ideal if it were to be offered to me as it's very easy for me to. I really wouldn't mind either a customer facing or non-customer facing as I just want to start working.

I also had my interview in Marylebone. It was on a Sunday, I arrived late & was interviewed by the wrong team which was a Godsend as we all had a laugh & a relaxed interview.

Fingers crossed that I receive a phonecall & start date very soon.

If this whole process is anything to go by I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the email to arrive, lol.

    You're welcome AOboy : )

I'm beginning to think I should have chosen Denmark Street lol. My partner and father both seem to think the others are "rough" areas. Lol. I'm suprised they didn't actually tell us the available locations at the interview.

I'm pretty sure you will hear something by next week, once your CRB comes through.

Best of luck with it though!

Also, to those who have recieved a phone call with an offer, how soon after did you recieve the email?

    Still waiting *scratches head.
  • Hi ppl, i'm new. I joined this site as i have been watching these threads with great interest. I have a question that probably can't be answered but i'm gonna throw it out there anyway!
From what i can tell, most ppl here are told they are successful then wait a long long long time for a start date. With me, I had my interview for AO on the 1st of May and haven't heard a thing since. Newcastle never answer their phones so can't pester them. My question is, a friend who works for dwp told me rejection letters are usually received within 2wks....therefore meaning the lack of contact thus far is a positive sign. Just wondering if anyone has ever waited months to be told they were UNSUCCESSFUL really. I did get the 'unsuccessful' letter within 2wks for an EO position....
SO, what do you all think? positive sign that i haven't been told i'm unsuccessful yet?? (very aware of the saying 'no news is gd news'). My references have not been contacted yet.
Looking at all these posts, a months waiting time might not seem long, but please understand i haven't even been told i'm on a waiting list or that i was successful. I've heard NOTHING since interview.

Thanx in advance. i'm secretly hopin Singrid will answer, even if he is short with me :p
One day I will be a [STRIKE]respectable[/STRIKE] Civil Servant.
Until then, I will be a secret MSE poster :shhh:

    Lol.

It's Friday so surely I shouldn't really expect anything after 5:30?!

She thought my postcode started with a number :\ so maybe I should really be worried.

It is very nice. Also since selection for the grades in question are based on merit, you are genuinely welcomed by the team. My colleagues have been working on band b for years and they are helpful and genuinely welcome band c new starts like myself and others. This is team behavior I like it very much.
