that woman was soo horrible she just sat there doing her work while i was sitting next to her like a lemon watching. she stunk of cigerettes and only talked to me when i asked her a question. she also kept swearing and wandering off talking to other staff and when there was a break she would just walk off while i was still sitting there!!!!!0

I couldnt agree more. Give it a chance hey!Besides if the job is not for someone, go for something more suitable or follow your dreams. Nobody wants to be tied down to anything.0 -
Hi all,
I started work yesterday! There are 12 people on my team, one of whom is my line manager who also started the same day as me. Seems like a lovely guy, the rest of my team are also a lovely bunch. I am one of the youngest so I thought I may feel a little intimidated but I haven't. On the first day, it was VERY information OVERLOAD, very difficult to take it all in but I suppose they have to get through it all. Today was better, I was shadowing some advisers. It's been very beneficial watching the advisers in action, got some background info. The two advisers whom I shadowed are both very nice and forthcoming with tips, advice etc. Throughout the interviews with clients, they stopped to explain certain things to me.
Tomorrow it will be more information overloading - joy! But after that we will be shadowing some more.
We're going to be getting laptops and mobile phones - I hope that's not so they can get in touch with us whenever they want to ask us to work! I think it's just because we'll be working outreach.
I'm very excited to get started properly! Raring to go!
Good luck to you all.
Reebok and Samesame, where are you??0 -

can soemone please help me I went for a Adim Officer Interview with the DWP (Job Centre) on the 9th May but haven't had any information whether or not i was successful
do I just assume I didn't the the job I don;t even have any telephone numbers email address to ask the status of my application
I tried emailing an address I found on the DWP website guess what no response
if anyone has any telephone numbers email addresses that could help me that would be great
thanks very much
I assumed even if i wasn;t successful i would have received a rejection letter0 -
My checks seem to be taking forever! I dont know if there is something wrong with it, nobody has tried to contact me. I dont know who to phone, my recruitment officer just tells me 'im waiting for your checks to come back to me'. Does anyone know how to get through to the checking people. please?0

Usually a letter is sent out, there are 3 types of letters:
1) Successful, dependant upon necessary pre-employment checks
2) Successful but on a waiting list
3) Unsuccessful
These letters are sent out anytime from 6 days to 6 weeks, so I'm afraid that it is a waiting game!
You could try calling Newcastle, although they are busy going through a mountain of applications - their number is: 0191 218 3713
Alternatively you could try calling the job centre in the area that you had the interview; they should be able to tell you if you have been successful or not.0
