...they cannot employee you before the benefit training as you won't be able to do any work, the training is quite lengthy so it can take time to organise everything that needs to be organised...

Does this mean that you don't get paid for training? i.e. you are not employed until after you have completed the training?
  • ooh it all moves quite fast - i have not even filled in my crb form yet or ticked the consent to contact referrees - yet today one of my referres rang saying a dwp guy had phoned asking him to confirm my start and end dates with his firm. he asked if dwp guy wanted more info and he said 'no thats fine' - is this all the reference is??? isnt there a paper reference asking about my performance or sicktime or anything?

Sigrid, just have a quick question for you if you don't mind. Is there any difference between getting a 'successful' letter that mentions a waiting list and one that doesn't? I got one that doesn't mention any waiting list. Only requesting my completion of CRB form and evidence of work (P60, Payslips, P45s etc).

Just really want to know if this a good sign that things will move quickly or whether it simply means that different people/departments use different letters.

    Cheers,
    NS

    hello all :D

I had to go to sign on today and the girl i signed with asked me straight away about the job, i was a bit shocked she had looked as they normally barely speak to me!!

anyway she said that in my area (tees valley) everyone had been put on the waiting list as the posts were still being sorted out.... so not sure if thats good or bad news!! I have been told so many diff things by them its strange.

but their must be method in the madness somewhere!! Im just really hoping that i do get offered a post! :p
Please be nice to all moneysavers!

evidently if phil had to work the hours i do to get you forkers into jobs he'd not be able to spell either! lol!

Actually I was sick of being unemployed for 6 weeks so accepted a job that is 90 minutes travelling EACH way, my working day is 7 1/4 hours and I am working for the community in a customer service role.
