I said "no, other reason" which is a little misleading as I got my savings part from Icesave with no problems. I am, however, waiting for my ISA money. I had switched from Lloyds and Icesave in mid September, Lloyds account closed on 30/9 but money never showed in Icesave. When everything went t*ts up I was told I could cancel the cheque from Lloyds, but they said no, I had to wait. Then after I got my Icesave savings I was told by Lloyds that I could cancel it, even back then  . The problem is even though I have told Lloyds (in my branch and on the phone) countless times that I want my money to be paid into my savings account they're not sure where I want the money to go. It's driving me mad!! I've now got to write to them and ask them to put it in my account.

Once it's in my account I'm withdrawing the lot and putting it in my Abbey account, who I've been with since I was little and have never had any problems.

    Sorry, essay over ;)

  • I must say that I have been very impressed with the FSCS, so far. Especially when you consider the volumes they are having to deal with.

My Instant Access and ISA accounts were refunded electronically within 5 days of my receiving the second email. Admittedly my first email went the spam route (stopped at the ISP level), but I was able to retrieve it quickly.

For my two fixed rate accounts I have opted for the paper route. My application form arrived on 22 December; I waited until after Christmas to post the reply - hopefully to avoid the rush.

  • FSCS have been totally professional and have done what they said they would. Both my wife and I have had our ISA cash returned, and we have opted for our savings to remain in our accounts until maturity. Well done to them

So come on folks, be fair

I'm glad you posted after my form arrived and I feel so much more relaxed about the situation.

FSCS knew on 25/11 (and probably well before) that all Power of Attorney accounts would necessitate paper compensation.

It has taken them until 31/12 to issue me with this required form. They have even issued some application forms for the fixed term bonds before this particular form for two 'easy' access accounts.

I will not fully congratulate FSCS since I have experienced enormous difficulties in progressing with my situation.Quite obvious mixed messages from the phone support team, lack of replies to numerous emails, letters and webforms.

Of course it could have been worse ( a la Kaupthing Edge) and I am grateful that my own electronic compensation went smoothly but I found your post hard to stomach and I hope that those other minority cases will soon receive their application form.

My view on the situation remains unchanged:
FSCS process was excellent for the majority ( including my own accounts) but exceedingly poor at troubleshooting individual cases.
  • Excellent- no problems
  • I received the 2nd email quite late and coincidentally was out on holiday then. To top it up I forgot my user id to login nad this info was locked in my office drawer...! But when I came back - did the transfer as the first thing and had the money on the 4th day. Just waiting now for the ISA certificate.

My password locked but the helpline sorted it quicker than Icesave themselves when it happened last time, money was in my bank within 2 days of hitting the go button so I was impressed with Fscs handling of the situation.

  • Received 1st email though it had gone into my junk mail. Never received the
2nd email. Phoned many times and given different explanations. Waited til
4 December and then filled in requested web form and also gave my details
verbally. Told I would be contacted by phone the next week. This never
happened. Phoned several times after and told I would be getting a paper
application but that not able to say when. This miraculously arrived 23 Dec
and I posted it off. No confirmation of this as yet. Told by FSCS staff that
it takes 6 weeks to process and receive their cheque.
It has taken much longer than they stated in the press and still haven't
    received my money yet!
