Icesave FSCS. Did you get it? Is it all sorted.

I stupidly put the details of my funding isa as my linked account when I first applied for my account and as that has since been closed I don't have a linked account. I have NEVER been able to speak to a human being when I've rung the number given on the e-mail - it seems to be an automated service. Hoping the paper form will arrive soon so I can get my money before the Christmas credit card bills are due!?0

Had an instant access one paid out, incredibly smooth and easy process, now I have a fixed one I'm keeping in until maturity, forms have arrived - process all very obvious and clear.
I rang to query a balance before I initiated the electronic process, got through immediately to an adviser who was helpful and reassuring.
FSCS have done an excellent job from my experience.0 -
Never received 2nd email and no responses to my email to FSCS. Last week received claim form in the mail which I have duly returned.
As my name say, I live in hope that one day soon I will see the return of my Icesave ISA.0 -
Better than I ever expected and much easier and faster than doing it yourself.
:j Yes I am jumping for joy.
To those with genuine problems I offer sympathy, however..... of the people I know who like me were worried about potential nightmares, I can honestly say that the only ones I know who have had problems with blocked emails, blocked passwords and all the other gripes listed, in my experience are the same people who have problems constantly and are never off the phone to the helplines. You guessed it.... these same people are always right and it's always a bloody useless computer, or a list of instructions that are completely wrong, but, strangely only for them.
Typically,
1] They can never get their emails to work anyway.
2] They have endless problems with blocked passwords because they get them wrong constantly
3] They think that they are computer experts and, in reality they have more problems due to trying to be clever than the people who let the computer do the job.
The FSCS did a bloody marvelous job considering it was just dropped on them out of the blue. How many Billions of £££s have been repaid without problem? And yes, I did have fixed term A/Cs (3 of them), An ISA, and an instant access A/C. Not a scrap of trouble with any of them.
:T
So come on folks, be fair and think about how many other problems you have on your computer before you blame the FSCS.
One last thing.....No, I dont work for the FSCS, I'm a retired mechanic.0 -
We had 2 Cash ISAs and a Savings accout. Emails came in from FSCS as promised as did the repayments. All very smooth.0

My wife and I had 4 accounts between us, 2 joint and 1 individual each. We used the same email for communication with Icesave and we were a little unclear as to who could claim on the joint account. FSCS told us twice (replies were obviously from a script and not tailored to our specific question) that only the first named could claim on the joint accounts, but we had already claimed on the second joint name, so waited anxiously for the money which arrived as requested quickly.
We decided to let the fixed bonds run their course and got the (over-complicated) forms the week before Christmas.
We are very glad that FSCS decided to allow the hold option on fixed bonds, presumably there are financial instruments which mature in the background which make it worthwhile for the FSCS to do this. Otherwise it seems a luxury that the FSCS cannot afford.
All in all a good job by FSCS considering what might have happened.0 -
My wife and I had an account each, and both of us have had our money as promised. My ISA certificate followed within a week and funds are now safely (I hope !!!) in a UK bank.
Excellent work by the FSCS, please congratulate them.0 -
Easy transactions but took an age to get the emails. I must have been right at the back of the queue, didn't get the invitation until the very end of November.
Still, everything is back safe and sound now!0 -
I elected to receive my instant access account, and some of my fixed accounts, paid electronically. This happened very smoothly.
I had one fixed account that I elected to keep until maturity. The paper forms arrived some time before Christmas and I've completed and returned them.
Given the size of the problem and the number of people involved, I think the FSCS have done a great job and I'm very grateful to to them.0 -
No problems. Got the cheque just over a week ago. Just waiting for the certificate so I can reinvest!0
