Still waiting for my ISA cheque, sent form in on 24th nov 08, have rung them three times now and all i get is it will be next week, they say they have reciept of form, but no cheque yet, have they run out???
I am aware that they were shut on 02/01. We can probably deduct 1 week when trying to measure.
Also someone here has been told that they will be unable to keep to their hoped 6 week schedule.
The good news is that they know you sent a form in.
• I got the answer to my email from the Complaints Commission today - very prompt but I suppose that's easier for them when all they have to tell you is that your problem is nothing to do with them and to get in touch with the FSCS. I'm literally going round in circles on this one!!

No response to email sent to info@icesave.co.uk

Anyway, today I've emailed the FSCS again, this time pleading for their help. I really don't know what else I can do. Does anyone out there have any ideas?

I missed your dilemma Gloworm and I sympathise.

I would send recorded delivery snail mail too. Perhaps include with your letter a printout of your Icesave statement.

Did you take screenshots of each page as you went through the electronic claim? If so, include copies of those.

Rather than send a copy of your linked bank account statement, could you just do a screenshot of the relevant section?
The reason being I would be uncomfortable having sort code and account number with your name and address easily accessible. Once they investigate, it should be clear that the money bounced back somehow or never left.

Good luck. I never got a single reply to any email or letter sent and most recently an email to LM.
• Thanks for those good ideas Sloughflint - I'll do what you suggest then carry on waiting hopefully! It feels better knowing I'm not the only one whose claim didn't go smoothly like it did for most people who completed the poll.

Also, if anyone else can think of anything I could do to try to get my money back, please let me know!
• Try an email to David.Lamb@fscs.org.uk (he works in the chief Exec's office.) Worth a try. Was quite helpful to me.
• The Certificate arrived in this morning's post and though I had to admit that this was progress, I couldn't help also thinking 'but that's a fat lot of good without the money!". Then at 4.30 today I got an email saying that the Customer Services Team is aware that the BACS transfer was rejected (but they don't explain why) and that in the next few days I will receive a paper application and they will get a cheque out to me ASAP. i am very relieved that it looks as if the money will eventually reach me but it's a pity they had to put me through so much worry over it. They have dealt with those of us who for whatever reason don't fall into the totally straightforward situation by fighting us off for as long as they can. It annoys me that I spoke to a member of their customer services team the other day and he told me it was Icesave's responsibility and the FSCS couldn't do anything. I think we have to assume they're using people untrained in how things are meant to work to man the phonelines. I don't know if it helped my case but in my 'pleading' email (my second one to the FSCS asking them to look into it) I mentioned that I'm a pensioner!! As I'm lucky enough to feel fit as a fiddle I didn't like to play that card, but just maybe it helped. Now I just hope that the rest of you having problems soon get them resolved - and thanks to all of you for sharing your stories as it helped loads knowing I wasn't the only one.
• I sent the fscs an email on the 6th of jan n got this back today,

Thank you for your e-mail dated 06 January 2009. We apologise for the delay in our response.

We are looking at the matters raised, and will write to you shortly with a full response. I guess i should be grateful i got a reply, but shows u how lax they are now!
• I suspect all the 'problem' claims were set aside and sorted into various categories with many deemed to require meticulous attention from legal experts. It's just a pity that we had to wait such ages to hear anything back from them after making our claims. Surely it would not have been too complicated for them to have sent out the mail received by Gray_colt straight away rather than leaving us all sweating. Anyway - they've had a hectic day today sending emails out to 2 of us!!:rotfl:
• Sent my claim form back before christmas, have been in Spain till 1st Feb, Returned to UK expecting that my ISA cheque would be waiting for me upon my return. No such luck, begining to wonder if I will ever see my money again.

NO NO NO no no no

It is NOT sorted. My dh and I are in the 11th week since maturity of our fixed rate bonds

The fscs are an absolute shambles and I have been passed from pillar to post

Ours are not problem claims, just two fixed rate bonds, one held by each of us
