My OH and I are another 2 who have not had this £100 email. OH has had second £1000 in for over 2 weeks now. he is expecting his £100 in 2 weeks time.
  • nightmare. after complaining i was confirmed to be eligible for the offer
I then found i was given an additional plus account...which costs money per month.. (I didnt ask for it) Called them immediately and they said okay changed it back to normal..no charges for the acount
    I deposit 1000.10 withdraw 1000 a few days later
find out today , I got hit with a 24.90 charge for the account..presumably the additonal plus thing.. then a £25 referal charge for being overdrawn..! So now -49.90

another phone call/complaint on its way...

this hasnt been the easiest £100 blag...to say the least..presuming we get it. Will stick to the bookies offers in future.

31st March - will I get my £100 by then? I hope so
    I haven't got one!
  • when I opened the current account they opened a saving account on my behalf
although i did not ask for one...
£25 standing order (which I did not setup) was taken from the current into the saving
so im only £24.90 down at the moment

wrote a complaint letter weeks ago after not being able to get a straight answer on whether or not they had judged my application to have been before the deadline. just received a phone call from a lady in the complaints department. she was very helpful and confirmed that my application was received in time (I applied at about 10pm on the 18th Jan) and subject to me meeting the £1000x2 conditions, i would get my £100. i've not had the email people are talking about? barclays don't seem to have a clue what they are doing - i get the impression that random staff from all over the place are phoning people, writing to them, emailing.....there's no standard approach to this and it seems to have boiled down to the luck of the draw.

I think these institutions are deliberately making life difficult... in some ways it is good that they are - what MSE et al are doing to them is clearly starting to hurt! I think their general approach is... you won't get the offer until you press us. Shameful! But then if your only making £billions/year profit these things must really hurt them"

    My current offer hassles are:

SMILE - finally managed to get them to agree to send my voucher "manually"
LASTMINUTE.COM - claim I am not eligible... still fighting
BARCLAY's - claim I am not eligible... still fighting (and this was their mess-up!)

I was one of those who applied online and was asked to pay a visit to the branch to finalise account set up.

Received a Cheque book last month and had paid in the £1000 during the month.

I have now called the 0500 helpline number after I have received a statement
which suggests that this account is a normal branch account rather than the online one I believed I had applied for.

I get the feeling the operator knew more than what she was letting on, and
implied that a "previous association with Barclay's" was to blame for me not
being accepted for the £100 bonus.

She was also keen to point out that the offer was only valid up until midday on the 18th of January.

I certainly used to have a Barclay's current account over 10 years ago, but could somebody remind what the online offer stated, i.e Was it exclusively for people who had no previous "association" with Barclay's?

I was told she was putting it forward as a complaint. The only evidence I have for the application having been made on line was the apology e-mail sent out by a Bruce Kelsall on the 24th January, and my own recollection
of applying before the 18th whilst the banner for the £100 offer was still apparent, but no screenshot, d'oh.

I know they are try to wriggle out of this, and it was apparent the Customer service operator, knew this, I look forward to hearing from anyone in a similar position, and what my options might be?

    Best Regards,

    HARRY

    P.S
I agree with the post above that the introductory gambling offers are more fruitful, having said that I've just received my HSBC 9 month )% card in the
post after waiting 3 months for it. Whilst doing the balance transfer, the operator tried to make it a 6 month agreement until I cried foul!

I think I trust Bookies more than Bnks these days!

    Thanks for that Innovate.

I think I've met those conditions, I certainly had a Personal account with Barclays 10 years ago, but had closed that and banked with Llloyds Tsb
    ever since.

I'll be interested in what results from my query to Barclay's this morning, it was the CS rep who suggesteed I log it as a complaint.

As I said she was certainly aware of the cut off on the 18th January, and it seemed to me the result will depend on being able to prove mt online application
    was done before that date.

I am in the same position halwise... fortunately I have managed to get the "manager" (!!!) of the branch where we went to open the account onto our case... (not that I am sure it will achieve anything...)

These organisations are immoral! I definitely applied whilst the £100 offer wasstill there...
