  • hey everyone,

well i am doing ok, kendal flooded a little (did anyone see it on the news?!) but we havent had it half as bad as northern cumbria. still raining here (no suprise there) but the river seems to be coping with it now, still a little high but not gonna burst its banks again anytime soon.

not much going on on the dfw front. due to the rain we did our weekly shop in mr m's this week instead of aldi then topping up in mr m's or a's and bloody well spent £90 on half a trolley full!!! new i would go over the £50 this week as needed soap powder and vitamins for me and ds1 but not by that much.......................wont be doing it again thats for sure.

Some of my fella's money has come through so we have bought a new tv for the bedroom with it and got some new radiators upstairs. i know i could of got a bit of debt down but its things we have wanted for a while and really needed new radiators as was like the ice age had come back upstairs but the sarhara dessert had taken residence downstairs.........will now save on my gas bill as the house should be equal in heat now.

family are giving us money towards window blinds for xmas so another home improvement can be ticked off. think i am nearly all done in the house, just the boys rooms to finish decorating etc...............but thats just paint and stickers etc. jan sales might help with that though.

right, off to finish my ironing mountain, am half way through and just needed a break. its the job that i hate most so leave it and leave it then have to spend hours doing it. i never seem to learn.........

  • Hi Rags!

Hope you ok? You seem to be steaming along as usual with the debt-busting... Many congrats at getting under £22k, it will be below £20k before you know it!!

Many apologies for not popping by soo much, life has been manic. Still not managed to do my 1st anniversary financial review (sounds posh don't it! lol) to see what I managed to do in my first year as a DFW! Ho-hum!

    Nats x

ps, that exercise class sounds 'extreme'!! lol

  • hello everyone.

just been up town to get some new work shoes as mine are on their last legs, couldnt find any and have somehow come home with 2 chunky knit jumpers and a pair of jeans?!?!?!? now feeling really guilty (even though i really do need clothes that fit) and trying to justify my spending. Is the mse/dfw going too far and i need to loosen up a little?? or does anyone else feel like this?? dont feel as guilty if i buy anything for the boys or my fella so why if the stuff is for me???

gonna make a start on my xmas shopping when ds2 finally decides to give in and have a sleep.....................but keep seeing things that would be good but are £30+, want some cheaper bits for the boys so they have several pressies to open but will still be in my budget. was supposed to be £100 each, but may have to up it slightly to £120 each??? we shall see......will do my best.

going to be baking later as need to do some cakes for ds1's school tomorrow, gonna make some snow man cakes (thanks to the free asda mag for the idea!!!) will post pictur`es when im done!!!

right, off to put my guiltyness in a box,

  • DONT feel guilty- its the typical parent thing- you can spend money or time on other people, but when it comes to yourselves you feel guilty for having some pampering/ money spent on you! As long as they werent ridiculously expensive you should not feel guilty.

Just start with the baking and enjoy yourself :) xx
