Morning Rags!!! Sounds like you had a fab time away - even if it was a bit windy!!

Well done on the wedding outfit - I think that is a total bargain!!!

I'm liking the idea of the wipe/white board in the kitchen to meal plan on. Last time I meal planned (only a couple of weeks ago!) I stuck a piece of A4 paper to the fridge door - was a bit unsightly though!!

Have a fab weekend, Nats x

Am piggy packing on the wipe board - i'm with Nats, the big pieces of A4 on my fridge are not so pretty ... am off to meal plan for this week though as I need to go food shopping tomorrow! (hate that job!)

OOoo i share in the spreadsheet geekiness (we could start a club ;))- nats sent me one too... and its fab!!

  • We have lift off!!!!!!

Went and put my lottery on and get last months tickets checked ( i know peopple frown on the lottery when in debt but i still believe you have to be in it to win it..........................) and i had won £10:D:D:D so went and bought my wipe board, some markers in different colours (1.50 pack of 4) and a pocket calculator (57p) for totalling up my shopping as i go round so no more nasty suprises at the tills!!!!! the money left over and the change in my purse has gone straight into my sealed pot. Its getting quite heavy now, am really resisting the urge to open it to count how much is in there.

Have got my shifts for next month and i have no overtime. This means no good debt busting and watching pennies after july's payday. My fella has agreed to sit down with me and go through everything we need to pay off and make a budget!!!! This is huge progress and think he is starting to grasp how tight i have to keep the finances.

Our house insurance is due next week, have been trying to use the comparison sites but keep getting unstuck as there is no catagory for cohabiting. So i put that i am single but as its a joint application dont quite know what to put my fella as...........common law partner or spouse??????

we are doing the weekly shopping tomorrow after we have done our meal plan and devised a shopping list. Gonna go through my freezers at some point to see what i have in there already.

    wish me luck!!!!!

  • Thanks girlies.

Knew my overtime would be reduced as another nurse came back off maternity leave this month so not so much going. and yes prob down to the fact i was so tired and struggling with the daft shift patterns i had last month. Oh well, just need to watch the pennies closely ofr the next 4 months, then ds1 will start school full time so the childcare bill will reduce dramatacally. then i can step up the debt paying again. for now it will just be plodding along. least i am ahead of my target for the year.............................

Have given my mum a copy of my shifts for next month as 2 of the weeks only have 2 shifts so she may be able to get me a few hours in her cafe. Have already paid for the childcare and will be extra to throw at the hbos cc. Have reached £10 on one of the scratchcard so that will be going towards the hbos cc.

need to get my butt into gear and start ebaying again.

on a good note my seeds are doing well, although my moneymaker tomatoes are yet to sprout, wonder if i have started them too late. Going to plant my tattie's out tomorrow. my strawberries have now started to fruit...............ummmm nomnomnomnom............

    Hi Rags

Well done on the £10 win and sorry to here you have no overtime this month but it does should like your fella's on board.
At least you will get to spend a bit more time with DS before he starts school, because once they are there they don't want to know you, my ds is in reception and i'm not even allowed to give him a kiss bye, he runs straight into the playgound to be with his mates even wants to go to after school club cos his mates go and when i say but mummy finishes work at 3 to pick you up, i get yeah but they get to play football:rolleyes:. I really miss those days when he just wanted his mum at lest dd still wants me around.
  • O.k, meal plan done, shopping list created now just to stick to it!!!!!! Hoping it will come under budget as there isnt really much on the list as have still got a load of bits in the cupboards and fridge. Trying not to use it all otherwise a week or two done the line i have a large amount to get and the budget collapses. Just deciding whether to use the money left for the cc every week or wait till the end of the month??? think doing it weekly will stop me over spending......................

Hey miemie, know what you mean bout them not wanting to know you when they grow up, i already have to give ds1 a quick kiss when no one is looking at nursery!!!!!! He is so full of attitude at the moment, think kevin (kevin and perry/harry enfield) and you are close......................and he's only 4!!!!!!

Did a pc survey so waiting for my £4 voucher, also have £5 off voucher from the newspaper that i can use next week so theres £9 off next weeks shopping!!!!!:D whoo hoo!!!

Right, off to do my scratchcards, not up to starting the daily clicks again........
