Hello everyone, am back from my week away. Sad to be back in a way as it was lovely to be a family for a week, not worrying about work, house and any other hassle!!!!!

Ds2 has suddenly developed sleeping problems from it though, used to settle down well and go to sleep on his own but now he just screams his head off and hates to be left. He was sharing a room with ds1 in the caravan so think ds1 is glad to be back in his own room on his own so he can get a good night sleep......................... def need to get ds2 into a bedtime routine, sort of did on holiday to match ds1's (bedtime drink, story then sleep) but he's not quite got into it yet.

Well back to money saving, watching the pennies, paying off what i can to the debts, finding ways to cut back and stay within budget........................ going to get the wipe board i mentioned and do a meal plan. thinking of dividing it into 2 with some tape so i can meal plan and do a shopping list on one board.

    How's eveyone elses week been??

  • Thanks skint_spice, wish it was a week of sunshine, was cloudy and windy from wed onwards so couldnt take the kids down to the beach. Had planned our days based on the weather reports but they were oh so wrong so messed it up a little.................. you live and learn.

Tha caravan was home from home though which was good, had everything we needed apart from a useable kettle. The water is soft down in scarborough so the kettle had loads of gung at the bottom that i couldnt get rid of and made everything taste awful. We had to go back ye ole style and boil water in a pan for a brew!!!! luckily i had bought the pre made cartons of ds2's milk when found them at 14p so didnt need to do it for his milk!!!!!

Was so glad to get back and have a proper cup of tea!!!!! the water tasted funny (even with cordial in it) so didnt enjoy any brews. We must have more added up here and we are in a hard water area. Most tourists from down south though think our water tases funny so i suppose its just what your used to.

we have decided though that we want a power shower!!!!!! thinking of asking people to give us money towards it for birthdays and christmas, ours just dribbles in comparrison!!!!!!!!!

it's been quite nice up here, sorry I thought it had been like that everywhere. I went to Scarborough with my folks in '76 and it was fab, went a couple of years ago with DS and some friends and it was freezin! fun though, went to some place with scary bits from films and scared the bejesus out of DS...

Aw it's nice to have a holiday, I last took DDs away when DD1 was 3 and she's 5 now although she remembers a surprising amount bless her :)

The wipe clean board is one I've thought of as well... OH is the only meat eater and always says when I make veggie stuff that he'd like a meat version, but then when I ask him when I'm doing the weekly shop what he'd like me to get, he always says, oh I'll get something in the week, then inevitably doesn't and so the cycle goes round! That way he could write down what he wants me to get when he thinks of it and what meals he'd like and I can incorporate that each week.

I do keep a running shopping list in my little notebook which doubles up for my 'To Do' list keeping, notes from phone calls, meal planning and so on, god knows what I'd do if I lost it:confused:
