  • That what i keep telling myself...........need to get back into my old clothes as really cant afford new ones!!

Got another email from scottish power saying they are now putting my direct debit up to £83!!!!! dont know how they have worked that out, might start giving them meter readings weekly to show i am not using that much gas and elec!!!!! really cant see how its gone up as when working no one is in the house, i try and make sure everything is turned off and have put my thermostat down to 16* .

OOh i was very naughty yesterday and paid 50p for a scratchcard on the bingo sites (to stop it looking like i was just doing the freebies and them cancelling my account) and won £4!!!!!!:D That took me to the £10 threshold so will withdraw it and pay it straight to the hbos cc!!!!! whoo hoo. every little helps!!!!

Going to try the boys with a cheese and tomato omlette (sp?) for lunch, cheap and easy!!!!! that reminds me i need to put a loaf on!!!!

    How is everyone else today??

    Rags,

A lot of the energy companies take the p**s with DDs. I guess they're thinking they'd rather have you in credit and the money in their bank account than yours to help their cash flow.

I'm with EON and they tried to raise mine from £95 to £180 a month. I'm sure I got a template letter off this site telling them to f-off. Anyway, they decided to change it down to £110.

I know it still sounds a lot but, unfortunately, thats about right for our gas and elec. (house is 4 bed detached as well).

Hey miemie, the weather up here isnt that bad today!!! poured down all day yesterday.

ummmmm, sausage and egg buttie.......................beats my porridge!!!! ha ha ha!!

My approved foods parcel has arrived!!!!!:D whoo hoo!!!:D wasnt much to be had this time but got some hand wash, stain remover, apple and orange juice in bottles for our hols and was naughty and got some sweeties for the sweetie box. Saves me buying them in the shops and only really get them from approved foods now as cheaper!!!! If ds1 has been good all day and not stropped or misbehaved, he gets a sweetie after he has eaten all his tea. Does that make me a bad mum?!

Have gotten a few people around here into approved foods, might start asking for comission!!!:rotfl: its a running joke that if anyone wants to save money they come to me!!!! ;)

Might persuade the OH to drive to windermere to our nearest cash and carry, see what bits they have got in.................spesh cleaning stuff as that adds up now. wish the made a costco near me, how do you become a member???

Glad its not just me the enery companies are ripping off!!!! Think they have the upper hand as no one really knows how they charge for the useage...........ummmm, may have to work out how to do a comparison and maybe switch????

    Hi Rags!!

No - not at all a bad mum. Thats the way my mum did it with me!! Unfortunately, my OH is a little softer with DSS which usually means I end up scowling.

Hope you ok? I am typing this with one hand whilst stuffing a sandwich in my mouth - making the most of a quiteish spell before I have to return to the nightmare that is a new computer system!!

I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!
  • Well have had some good news....................

Finally got round to renewing my tax credits and even though our total income has increased alot this year due to me going back to work, we are still entitled to over £400 a month till august when we will lose the baby element and then will go to virtually nil in october when ds1 starts school full time.

Ooh i am looking forward to my holiday........going to seriously work on my fella so we can shift these debts, he always agrees and says he wants rid so we can get the nice things with saving but it seems its me doing all the overtime and giving things up. He just isnt trying and keeps finding things he suddenly needs!!!! not sure how to go about though without seeming like his nagging girlfriend trying to be his mum!!!

Glad to have you back nats!!!!!

Ooo Rags I crossed post with you -

Thanks for mail!! Not sure on advice for your OH LBM - other than using the demotivator tool and pointing him in the direction of the website and martins pages on how much interest is within debt, etc. Have you search around the relationship pages, etc? I would imagine a few people in similar positions are out there hun and may have some good advice?

Good news on the tax credits!! :)
