Have ordered my front and back doors costing £1800. This is the best quote i had and am paying monthly. Locked in for the first 12 months then can pay it all off...........really needed them as the front door is wooden and has swollen with all the crap weather so wont open and the back door lock is getting so bad it takes 5 mins to unlock it now.....
Also went out last night on a head wetting (not been out for about 1 1/2 years!!!!) so bought myself a new top, pants, shoes, cardi (instaed of a jacket) and a suck everything in from the bust level to thighs pants. Oopps!!!!!! only spent about £25 including my taxi home though...............
So am now over £20k in debt again:mad: but will save money on me gas without the drafts:D
confession over, need to get back into my money saving ways and out of my "i'm sick of scrimping and saving and not getting very far" mindset!! Does anyone else fall off the wagon????
one step forward and two steps back!!! Will add my doors to my sig in march when the payments start and the doors are in.....
love rags

£1800 for two doors. Couldnt you get them any cheaper?0 -
So sorry to hear bout your dad......but yay to you being debt free!!!!!! Dont feel guilty bout using the money to clear your debts, least you can save for things you want now instead of having something nice with the money and still having to scrimp and save to pay the debts off.
Paul, keep reading hun.....................................
Hey little emms, feeling a bit better this afternoon after my chillaxing morning, even did have my ironing pile before the kids came home and will finish the rest off tonight.
Have started taking spirilina (sp?) in the hope of losing some weight (gillian mckeith raves about it) and getting some more energy (friend takes it and swears by it) it is blue algae so got the tablets as easier to swallow. It has actually curbed my appitite a little but think that may just be in my mind................... This, if it works, should help me do all the overtime and not flake at the end. Thats if i get overtime next rota?????
Been working on some figures, if i payed £420 a month to the debts (not taking interest into account here) then i will be debt free in 4 years 3 months, if i pay £480 a month, i will be debt free in 3 years 8 months, if i pay £600 a month (no chance but nice to dream) then i will be debt free in 3 years................................ have worked out so far i am averaging £430-£450 a month before extra's are added but that will go up in october as will have the sofa's to start paying for and ds1 will start school so will have my childcare bill reduced by half!!!!!
just biding my time then really till then, then i will hopefully be able to pay big chunks off, even more so if the overtime is still going.....................December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Miemie - I agree with Rags, I'm sure your dad wouldn't feel like you've let him down at all. Maybe something to promise yourself is now you are debt free - you are not going to go down that route again - I think your dad would be proud of that!
Rags - Glad to hear you are feeling better
Cor all that maths made me dizzy
- but what an incentive to get debt busting!! And yay to halving nursery bills!!! All sounds good rags!!!

:beer:Happy bank holiday weekend everyone:beer:
Went out last night for a friends birthday and had a really good night, slightly feeling it though but the boys let me sleep till 7am which is good for them!!! Not very mse at the moment as went out last night, have a wedding next week, then our hols and then a wedding night do at the end of that week...........ummm, skint comes to mind!!!
Gonna get my butt into gear and start listing on ebay! will have to do them for 5/7 day listings so i can hopefully post the items before i go on my jolly holiday. want rid of all the clutter we have hanging about, and hopefully most of my clothes will sell as its warmer now and the tops are quite summery.
we really want a new car, looked yesterday with the OH, and did a compare thing for a loan to get the money for a new one and it actually dawned on the OH that we just cant afford it!!!!!!!! he keeps having mini lbm's which go out as quick as it lit, but i think it may be sinking in now as he said "if we werent in this much debt we could get this" (refering to this gorge 06 car which i would gladly have bought) fingers crossed he is fully on board now, we will see............
it is really sunny here today so we are taking the boys for a walk to feed the ducks and may atcually get round to doing some planting with ds1!!!
what's everyone elses plans for the bank holiday weekend????
