  • Well I went to the supermarket today - bit ashamed as it's so early but I was in town anyway and I have transport issues so didn't want to waste the chance.

I only spent 5.90 though...got a lot of cheap fruit and veg, some bread, milk and peppercorns (i hate running out of those!)
    August grocery challenge: £50
    Spent so far: £37.40 :A

Had my first spends yesterday - £17.18 in Boots and £14.11 in Morrisons. Shouldn't need anything else for a few days so hopefully NSDs today and tomorrow, then just pet food and straw on Saturday.

    Happy New Year, K x

I totally forgot that my sister and I were catering parties on New Years Eve and Day so ended up spending £65.00 that I hadn't accounted for....DUH!!!! That did include £22 as my share of the parents wedding anniversary gift - inconsiderately they married on NYE 42 years ago! So now have to really pull in if I'm going to make this month's target.

Best of luck to everyone, K x

  • Thanks for this, it looks great

But there was another link that had an index of recipes that i can't seem to find - can anyone help me please??

    Many thanks

Go to the first page of this thread where its listed!

NSD yesterday-ordered some food online the other day from Approved foods and have deducted that from Jan budget even though I bought it in December as it will be used in January and actually paid for on my Jan statement.
Went to Somerfield today for loo rolls on offer. Pack of 9 Charmin for just £2.50
Bought 4 packs while they are a good price so they should last about 6 weeks I hope! Didnt buy anything else! Whoopee! I didnt even venture into the store as the loo rolls were by the tills at the front. Dropped off a loads of carriers to be reused in the Health food shop. Dropped off 2 bags of stuff at a charity shop also to start decluttering-so I was good today! Also ordered some bees but I Think they can come out of my "other" budget.
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults

Jusy back from Tesco - spent £44.23 which included some whoopsies and also 6 jars of Kenko rich roast coffee on offer at £3.00 instead of just over £5 - so a potential saving of just over £12. Luckily there was lots of coffee on the shelf so plenty for everyone and I didn't feel guilty!!!!

My first shop of the year - £3.80 for dog biscuits, beetroot and a jar of Bertolli sauce which MrT has on offer. I do make my own (honest :D) but I love the Bertolli sauces - they are yummy and rich tasting. So that will be tucked away for some spag bol night.
Trying to last with what we have at the moment so hope not to be posting for quite a few days. Off to read what you've all been up to

I am going to make quiche over the weekend - can you freeze it and would you freeze it before or after cooking?

I always cook mine first then Freeze, then I defrost and reheat to serve. I made 2 in December, 1 for Xmas Eve Buffet and 1 for New Year's Eve Buffet and all my Guests are still alive and kicking!!:D

PS. Well done you getting a refund from M&S for that Cheesecake.;)

  • Got my monthly shop on Tuesday. This is going to be a very long 6 week month.:rotfl: I should only need a very few things over the next 4 weeks so I may just make my challenge this month. Updated my sig with correct spend totals thus far.
