    I think if my wife or i get made redundant we will probably seek new employment immediately and not sit at home with dried provisions.

    Yep. There are a few frequenters from our area on MSE (well, if you count Worcs & Glos too). Either we are manic money savers or there is bog all else to do in these parts.
