Has anyone started to stock up on basic foodstuffs etc in case they or their partners are made redundant?
I think I read somewhere that you were best to have enough dry/tinned foodstuffs in for up to 6 months (not so much frozen in case we start having power cuts).

I'm tempted to do so, but I think i'm gonna hold out for the next sign showing it's all over. Hopefully the goverment can guide us through to the path to a deep recession, rather than a highly probable end of days scenario.0

Here's a mad idea. Rather than spending money now on food to stockpile in case of redundancy, why not stockpile the money instead, and then if made redundant spend that on food that's fresh rather than spent months going mouldy in cupboards?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Best bet is to get rid of any high interest finance and save the money. When things do get worse prices should fall and you will have food stocked up you have paid over the odds for.
Blitz mentality comes to mind0 -
Always good deals to be had in Morrisons and Asda if you are in there at the right times. No need to stock pile. I have had my morning break and dinner at work for less than a pound all day. I am getting obsessed with it and there's no room in the freezer at the moment. If you are in the right place at the right time I reckon you could feed yourself for less than a tenner a week. Maybe a fiver. I don't need to do this it's a hobby, and you get to recognise faces after a while, those that need to do it and those that don't. I am sure the staff feel pity if I am in my works clothes as I work on the building and look like a tramp most days.I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0
