I just wanted to endorse this. How many people here know that, in Belgium (another monarchy and host to NATO and the EU), the government resigned on 19 December because of the row about the break-up of the stricken Fortis bank (a report by the Supreme Court found signs of political meddling to sway a court ruling on bailing out Fortis bank, a victim of the credit crunch). The King of the Belgians accepted the government's resignation but ordered it to stay on for the time being in a caretaker role until a new government was formed (which seems to have happened today).
I have seen/heard nil analysis of this, nor any "could it happen here" commentaries?YouGov: £50 and £50 and £5 Amazon voucher received;

I know that you probably meant this tongue-in-cheek but - as Belgium is sliding into recession, while the price of cocoa has risen, I guess that there will be less Belgian chocolate for a while.YouGov: £50 and £50 and £5 Amazon voucher received;

I've recently stocked up on pasta, rice and canned goods.
I'm not sure where this need to buy small amounts of everything comes from, It makes much more sense to buy pasta and rice in big sacks than small packets. It usually has at least a year before the best before date which is plenty of time to eat the food, plus it has the added advantage of not having to carry heavy shopping home every week.In Progress!!!0 -

Raise your awareness of how censorship is now being used to suppress a very great deal about the reality of Britain today. That non-coverage of beheading in Manchester was a example of news management ordered from the top.
We are being drip fed nonsense to create the fear that Clown is then exploiting with the faux-Churchill act; the facts are NOT getting to the sheeple that's for sure. I can't remember when the BBC had any analysis of worth (I don't count Clown's sock-puppet Preston arguing for collectivisation)
Looks like you've been spending too much time on the BNP website.US housing: it's not a bubble

Has anyone started to stock up on basic foodstuffs etc in case they or their partners are made redundant?
I think I read somewhere that you were best to have enough dry/tinned foodstuffs in for up to 6 months (not so much frozen in case we start having power cuts).
I think if my wife or i get made redundant we will probably seek new employment immediately and not sit at home with dried provisions.0
