Then I got a lead ... they had them on display/to touch and play with ... in M&S. So off I set. Into M&S, up the stairs... target spotted. Went over, fiddled, batteries dead. I asked the assistant to put new batteries in it, then I took it over to the ladies lingerie department where I sat down on one of the model plinths. I sat and played non stop with that for about an hour.
Nobody stopped me, nobody questioned it: mad middle-aged woman playing with RoboRaptor, completely entranced, in lingerie ... be aware, but stay away.
Brilliant it was.I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -

And btw as my 13 yr old informed me that Chocolate comes from a bean, it can therefore be counted as one of my five a day:D. Unfortunately it would never last long enough to be stockpiled in this household:o
In six months time that same 13 year old will be prowling the streets in a feral gang, armed with a Mad Max haircut and shotgun trying to steal Dopester's dog food.0 -
Will be interesting to read this thread in exactly a years time. Either we can look back and laugh at people like dopster that planned for the end, or the internet will be cut off to help slow down the revolution, and we will be fighting for survival in the streets.
I'm still not sure what it will be?0 -
OK, there seems to be some confusion over what food to stock and what not. Naturally people want to stock healthy food but don't seem sure what's classed as fruit and veg. There's actually much more nutrition in basic foodstuffs than you'd think. Consider the example below:
Black Forest Gateaux contains:
Cherries, a fruit.
Chocolate, from cocoa beans, it's a legume which counts as a vegetable.
Sugar, from sugar beet, a vegetable.
Flour, from wheat, it's a vegetable.
Cream, from cows, who eat grass, a vegetable.
Eggs, from chickens, who eat corn, a vegetable.
Hope this helps.0 -

You need to get that doggy chow into some tins (everyone has sweetie tins laying around after Christmas), else you will have no dog food but very fat mice!
......unless the plan is for the dogs to eat the mice?
DOPESTER....
Swap you some sweety tins for some mice (I have a cat).
A xDon't believe everything you think.

Perhaps we will return to press gang times and UK plc can make money with gangster youngsters on the streets forced into service for mercenary armies overseas?0 -

I'm willing to bet that it will be just like it is today, but with a smattering of high street stores closed, house prices down 20%, reposessions up, unemployment at around 4 million and probably a bit of civil unrest because of it all. I think we'll still have the internet, I don't think everyone will be fighting for survival in the streets or that it will be "the end".
If that's the case I'll bring this thread back up in 12 months. If your scenario occurs you may have some trouble saying "I told you so" without internet, so maybe you could print some copies of the thread and store them in a safe place? Maybe with Dopester's food?0 -

Sarah Miles does that, allegedly, but I saw her on telly the other day and definitely wouldn't recommend it.0 -
