Got the Olympus camera and the images are fantastic. Only problem is they are saved as .ORF files. How do I transfer them to .jpg? Cheers. Might pop this on the 'Techie' messageboard too.0

The ORF files are the RAW files, which you'll only be able to view using the olympus software. You need to change the settings on the camera so it saves the photos as JPEGs.0

what bags have you people got? I think I will go for the 7dayshop one0

No. It only takes XD cards, or CF Cards.0 -

You can use SD and SDHC cards with an appropriate convertor, I bought one from Maplin - in cost just under £20, but allows me to use all my SD and SDHC cards without issue in my E410. Also providing the SD and SDHC cards are "fast", they work really well - rapid shots etc.0 -

Yes, but when its only £15 to get an 8gb CF card from Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8GB-CF-Memory-Card-Compact-Flash-4-Kodak-Nikon-Canon-8G_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1690Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem310081297788QQitemZ310081297788QQptZUKQ5fAudioTVElectronicsQ5fPDAsAccessoriesQ5fMemoryCardsQQsalenotsupported

I've a considerable investment in good quality, fast, SD and SDHD memory cards. It's far more cost effective for me to spend £20 on the convertor and then I can just put the card directly into the SD / SDHC compatable slot in my existing PC/Laptop. It also removes the need to purchase a seperate CF/XD card reader, fiddle around with thisas well as having to carry this around too
Best of all - if you use a good class/speed of SD / SDHC card it actually performs faster than XD or CF memory, when taking rapid shots.
The suggestion of the convertor is to point out to anyone who has an investment in [the far more common format of] SD/SDHC memory they might find it more cost effective to consider the one off cost of the maplin option, its also less fiddling around than having to have an xd/cf reader (a multi card reader will be required taking up more space), as many new laptops have SD card readers built in, or v.small USB CD readers can be purchased from £land or 99p shop for those that don't.
PS - if you want to by XD memory you'll find it cheeper here ! (although the Olympus card supports Panaromaic, Fuji does not)

PPS - for good / fast SDHC memory, 16GB (if you purchase a couple of these, plus a convertor from maplin) and a reader from 99p store, you'll be quids in !! as opposed to the XD of CF option (for the same amount of memory) plus the cost of a multi-card reader .... plus less to carry around, and most definatly a faster memory card to write to !!
