    done.

i doubt you're any of the above so pay no attention to it. its obvious it doesnt refer to you if you have a lil thread read.

anyway, in regards to prices rising, again, thats opinion. much of what you said i have read in the other thread 'will lcd's get cheaper'

majority forecasts are opinions and not fact based. its not as simple as the yen/pound statement you make. take into consideration the changes of the euro strength and the dollar strength. the trade of electricals in europe as opposed to here etc etc etc.

my forecast was for a 2 month period on EXISTING OLD STOCK TVS. which you say are cheaper because they are old stock bought before xmas, so why would the same stock not be cheaper in a month????

come on adam, sometimes its good to let things pass.

I still don't get it. You're advising people to wait two months, JUST IN CASE YOU'RE CORRECT, and TVs are a bit cheaper? Why would anyone in their right mind take that advice?!

If people want a 32" branded TV with five years' cover, they aren't going to get much cheaper than the £270 at John Lewis today. If going for unbranded, they also won't beat the Hannspree 32" for £199, an offer that ended last week.

OK firstly, as someone who works in OLEDs I can assure you there are no OLED TVs coming soon. Samsung my demo a 40" screen in the new year but I have it from inside sources that such a screen would cost $10000.

Secondly, it's not shocking to expect prices to fall over time, but a £400 screen now is still better than the £600 it was a year ago.

Thirdly, foreign goods (such as electricals) are going to be getting more expensive in the coming weeks due to new stock being bought with a weak pound. The new S350 BD player was £150 at Amazon 10 days ago, then went up to £160 and I believe it's now at £170.

In regards to the BD player you mention. A few facts for you.

Amazon cancelled 99% of the orders.
Laskeys had it at that price as a special promotion
wapow, I hope the rest of the information you're posting is better founded than your comments about the Sony Blu-ray player at Amazon ;)

kiran is correct about its recent pricing

the orders that were cancelled were from 2 months ago when it was briefly priced at £129.99 by Laskeys & even more briefly at that price by Amazon
  • We bought a 42" Panasonic HD tv about 2 months ago - it was sub £500 -

do we regret buying it - not a bit. It's a great tv, it was at a price we were comfortable with (we weren't a couple of years ago when they were about £2k). We do this with most things we buy - if we want it and it is a price we can comfortably afford we will buy it. If not we wait or look for an alternative.
We once paid £1k for Sony flat screen Vega tv, it went into terminal decline after 5 years and was going to cost £650 to put it right, so we bought a cheap widescreen from Asda, had that about 3 years and then bought the Panasonic.

As for DSG they have posted a loss of just under £30m, the first loss they have had for 25 years - hardly the end of the world, but nothing is impossible, we shall see. I personally don't use them now, though I have bought a couple of cheap pc's over the years from them.

Woolworths on the other have lost money for years - they usually did alright over Christmas but performed badly during the rest of the year.

MFI have also lost money for quite a few years - they underwent a form of restructuing in 2006 to try and stem the losses.

The slowdown in the housing market will have helped kill MFI, other large retailers will surely be feeling the pinch as a large proportion of white goods and sofas etc are bought by people moving home.

I hope DSG sues the original poster for liable. This is unfounded and comments like that ruin this forum.

i advise you to re-read this entire thread over and over until that little bulb in your head whereever it may be begins to show some sign of life.

nobody's bothered about your tv from two months ago. a crash in tv prices of this calibre wasnt expected to occur at this early stage. you wont find posts two months ago about waiting to buy a tv. you seem to buy tvs every few years whereas some buy and hope to keep well over 7-8years. you were comfortable dishing out that amount for your money. others arent so comfortable and so want re-assurance and want to know the spec of the tv and what its capable of.

    swan

what on earth are you talking about? the orders i mentioned were cancelled in november. there are posts and proof of this on the net. also, the price of this player has fluctuated alot in recent months.

    asda had it £143.60

recent news suggest BT are selling for £154.99 (need to clarify)

why dont you just use a search engine? please.
think about what you post next time.

    You're an idiot.

Somebody makes a point that rubbishes your lies, rumour and conjecture, and all you can say is 're-read the thread'. I've read the thread, or at least what I could of it - your spelling and grammar needs a lot of work, and considering that is ALL people have to go on on whether to trust you or not, it seems you'll always be fighting a losing battle.

Now, chuff off, as so many people have advised you to, and admit that your pretty, little, lie-filled thread didn't go as planned.

(Note: if not, I'll pop back in February, when you'll be long gone).

people dont have 'plans' for threads idiot. its an informative post and as you will have read (assuming you can do that) some have taken to it and empathise with, others have not.

im sure you'll find there is hardly a mistake in my posts, you obviously cannot read english it would seem. a small typo here and there can occur. but i dont believe you'll find a mistake in my posts. such a childish claim you make.

chuff off? awww getting to your lack of intelligence is this post? hope it gives you a migraine.

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

you can pop back in anytime, if you bothered to read this thread, which again, i know you didnt, you may find a brief history on my history at this site. even this account is older than yours. but as you probably cant read, you didnt notice! :D

zippy - its 'libel' not 'liable'..you should also read up on cases on grounds of libel and a definition of the word. for your consideration ill do what im about to do.

Corrected as far as possible for you.

Also, the thread title shouldn't have an apostrophe.

    Hope this helps.

addamcance has just made the lamest post officially ever on an internet forum. you have found ZERO spelling mistakes.

you may find people type like that (without the use of caps for every sentence to begin), to save time.

your first post has the word 'AND' to begin a new paragraph, after a full stop.

happy? you just took a crap on your own doorstep :D

yes, history twice. it makes sense. i could've used 'past'. but you show yet again you are unable to read or understand.
