youre all right. but as i have said countless times in this thread...
if you really really really need a tv now now, go buy one.
if you thought you would buy a tv because so many prices have been slahsed on many tv brands....
just wait until february to buy the tv you thought you'd buy now.
thats all there was to this post. the rest was further reading, as i have mentioned in the OP.
hope that sums it up for this thread

i cant post any of the information id like to about DSG group..yet.
if companies have an over supply now of tv's, thats you're reason for tv's being so cheap, then if you hold out until february, they'll still have that over supply of the same tele. im not saying wait for new tv's until february. ive said wait to buy the tv you want now, until february.0 -
everything gos's down in pric how long should someone wait ? if yu need something and got the funds to do it go and buy it if we liv our lifes waiing or prices to go down we will be dead before we buy anything0

My 44" rear projection TV cost me £1250 a few years back. It was a bargain the same TV in Currys was £2000! Now I would struggle to give it away. I could get a modern TV of a good standard (well good enough for me) for about £500 now.
2 months ago I brought a Samsung 32" TV for about £340 today in the sales it is £290. I should have waited.
It's just the way things are, you won't keep up with technology...0 -

I've been looking for 40in sony model KDL40V4000 and saw it this morning on John Lewis website for £499. Waited for OH to come home with his CC so that I could order it BUT the price had changed to £599:eek: and this was in the space of a couple of hours.I know that I didn't make a mistake in the price 'cos I wrote price and model no. down though it did say just reduced today.

Best I can find is £550 http://www.buydigital.me.uk/Product-show.asp?BigClass_Id=13&SmallClass_Id=61 you should have you own cc0

i can tell you exactly why and ways of getting around it.
this tv was originally £599.00 in JLewis. hispek, m and s, comet i think too, had this tv at £499.00. so some people who were in JL asked JL to price match. JL noticed that most of the above shops were selling them at the cheaper price, so they reduced their price (which is why it said reduced today - the deal has been on since xmas day)
now 99% of stores are out of stock, so JL have now increased their prices back to the original.
if you can find a local store which still has the tv at £499.00, then you have to pop in to JL and ask them to ring that store so they price match.
you can find this out by doing a search engine search.
fret not, if you can hold out a little while (probably a couple of weeks, you'll bag this tv with extras at the £499.00 price which most people wont get. the reason you'll get extras on this tv but not lower than £499.00 is because i think one of the stores has a clause where if it goes cheaper within a month they will refund the cash or something, so instead they'll get rid of extra stands/speakers etc.)
or...wait and bag the 'w' range (which is better than the 'v' range) at the same price.0 -

Perhaps try udate.com as you seem to have far tooooooooooo much time on your ands
Or why not get yourself an agent , rather than sit at your PC handling yourself
Now before you all start , i am jesting with my jokey comments above so no need to snipe i know this is a moneysaving forum but i wanted to lighten it up a bit
Now here is a challenge, and i know achieving world peace is a better bet but i challenge you WAPOW to NOT respond to this post or create a newbie account to respond to it and i will GENUINELY donate £25 to Cancer Research , and i do genuinely mean that (i will do it online on Jan 2nd)

quote me properly with the correct sentence or dont quote me at all.
i didnt say:
"i cant say anything about dsg"
you dumb git. ive already had a word about dsg on this thread.
what i wrote was..
"i cant post any of the information id like to about DSG group..yet."
stop twisting words and mis-quoting.
find something better to do than nit picking you sad old man. its disgusting of you to say you will pay £25 to cancer research if i dont post. thats totally absurd. this thread was light hearted until you showed up. dont need you to make an irrelevant input. people dont come on this thread for counselling. those that want to make sense of it, will.
now if you're not an imbecile, you'll still donate that money and do it from the heart. not because of a silly condition.0 -

1. WAPOW 6 up, 4 downWAPOW was the un-imagitive name given to one of the early BBS systems in the early 90's in the South East of England.
Before the internet was wide-spread Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) became the favoured tool of the geek for exchanging messages. WAPOW reached in excess of 30 nodes at the height of it's popularity. The computer press wrote about WAPOW with gusto, but never asked that the initials stood for. I believe the term was dreamt up in the Two Poplars pub in Wokingham one drunken evening....
WAPOW = What A Pile Of Wa*k
I got 8 wapows last nights.
You see the thread on wapow ?
There is a new wapow pop in Ashford !

Almost ALL of that post, OP, is opinion and is exactly what we as consumers do not need right now. The economy is already in a state without people stating online that 'DSG is going into administration'. It isn't. People are saying this because they are likely to post a loss on their Currys arm this year. This is because they have spent millions on rebranding, and will have been anticipating this loss. Their profits for the last two decades more than cover this tiny amount.
And electrical goods, if anything, are likely to RISE in price by February. The strength of the Yen against the weak pound means goods such as this will rise. The only reason John Lewis, etc have such good prices on TVs at the moment is because it is all old stock, bought in before the Christmas period.
I don't post very often on here, but I couldn't let this one just pass me by.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0
