  • Hi helenhugs. I don't know if its the cheapest place, but I bought felt in Hobbycraft last week; 22p for an A4 sized sheet. The red and white were 44p each, and all sheets were on 342. HTH x
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

Great prices, just had a look though & we don't have a hobbycraft anywhere near us :( Thanks though :) might have a look at ordering online (if you can) I love the look of all the gingerbread men & things made from felt though. I'm sure even I could manage something like that lol.
    Hugs

I was thinking you could use baby formular tins, smash tins if you use them ... they would be great for all different crafts.. and for kiddies -you could make arms and legs that sew on -so their legs dangle over the edge of the shelf etc....make little characters and all sorts ..ok Im getting carried away now :rotfl:

Where can you buy cheap felt?

Hi Helen, sorry I snipped your post above.
Ladies I was wondering if instead of using felt, could you use fleece throws instead??? Primark and Ikea have them at £2 and £1.59 each. If you had something large or lots of things to do it would work out cheaper than A4 felt sheets. Can you use fleece instead of felt - does anyone think they'd be much difference? I know I've made somethings with fleece before and it seemed okay.

Asda has smart price fleeces 122x152 cm - cream and brown where all that my local asda had in store last night - in the aisle with the cushions and pillows and quilts bottom shelf below the quilts (mightnt of been the quilts may have been pillows) Incase you dont have a local primark or ikea
Think it was £1.79 dont quote me on the price I cant find my bill
    Its a lovely fabric though
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together

Could I use gravy granule tins for these do you think ? I'm not much good at sewing but could cover a tin with fabric and do some kind of motif to stick on it. Be handy as a 'mini kit' for someone as a pressie.

    Hi Mary..

I bet you could use gravy tubs..they would be a great size for feltips etc too :D
You could even measure the piece of fabric for the actual tub and then "wunder webb" the motif on to the piece before attatching it to the tub ;)

ooohhhh the ultimate in recycling too :j
