Chillin nutta I love the Joann site. When I went to visit my daughter last year in Texas we spent such alot of time in Joann, I was there for 7 weeks, so lots of time to browse. Their site has lots of ideas in the project section check it out ladies.... http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat13849

    I have only two words for you - 'Michael's' and 'Dollarama':D .

Oh I am so jealous. I don't know whether you have been before or if you have, how long it has been, but the craft sections in Dollarama are fantastic now. Plus, the Christmas clearance sections in Michael's will be excellent. Also, in true MSE style, dont forget to pick up the flyers outside Michael's before you go in and check out the coupons in there for extra savings. These change every week.

    Enjoy:T

Hi everyone - hope you dont mind me joining in? Have been looking and linking from this thread and the ideas and inspiration are amazing! In fact if I just stopped looking and actually did some crafting I could make loads of things for next Christmas!!

Have got the idea in my head that I would like to make a few of those knitted mug holder things as presents - does anyone know where I might find a free pattern for them please? Thinking they might look quite good wrapped in cellofane with a mug filled with age appropriate 'stuff'?

Have got confidence that one of you far more advanced at this sort of thing people will be able to point me in the right direction.

    Hi Disflop

I was thinking of trying those "hugs in a mug" -my mum actually got 1 for my niece for xmas -from M+s or somewhere similar..and it was her that gave me the idea :D
I haven't seen a pattern yet -so I may have a go at inventing one :p ... not sure how it will work -but its worth a try ..if you spot a pattern let me know ;)

OOh thanks for such a quick reply MRSM - will keep you posted - but if you do manage to invent a pattern I would be very grateful to you for sharing it! My knitting skills are very basic - even my 5yr old GD has asked me to learn how to make something other than scarves lol!

Just googled - apparently knitting pattern central has loads of patterns for mugs/phone holders etc, so will be having a look later - must get back to the real world now.

I never should have subscribed to this thread lol. I keep looking & thinking what fab ideas there are. I can't knit or crochet but theres still plenty to keep me going. Where can you buy cheap felt? I need to get my cards so I can start on them :D I have got loads of toppers for them & can't wait to have a go at making them.
    How exciting :D
