Not sure if anyone has mentioned this in the past but I really wanted to print some slogans on t-shirts. Does anyone know how to do this anymore? I know i can get it done in some shops but hopefully it's got to be cheaper to do it myself....somehow!!!!:D

I also thought about getting some of these unpainted Christmas sledges to decorate for next year.

I thought they might be nice with choccies in - one by each place setting. What do you think?

We did these with the boys in one of the youth groups I work with- and they loved them! They're pretty chunky and very sturdy- we have the one I made sitting on a windowsill at the moment. It's in fab condition after a couple of years use. You can fit some small sweets or a couple of funsize bars in it. It paints up really well with acrylic paint- and I also sprayed a little glitter paint on for sparkle. My daughter made a lovely pink and lilac one!
    Well worth doing!
There are alot of lovely 'blanks' from Baker Ross- we use them alot. A few things aren't so great, but on the whole I love them.
    These are also fab-

I painted one up to look like a leather- bound book with gold leaf pages and it fooled the boys completely. They were thrilled to find it was a secret box- and to make their own. I have a couple of spares, so for next Christmas, I thought I'd do the same thing- but add the title 'A Christmas Carol' (or similar) and fill them with Christmassy goodies.

Was going to have a go drawing a tree by hand and seeing how it looked ;)

Mary, I've just found this online... http://www.kidclever.co.uk/toyshop/prod_123993-Christmas-Tree-Decoration-Sewing-Kit-Make-Your-Own.html. I'm not going to buy a kit but like the shapes of the ornaments (look very easy to copy!).

Found some more for us to look at for ideas... http://www.mycraftbook.com/List.asp?subcategoryID=4&offset=10

    Can I join this thread??
I got loads of basic craft stuff for Christmas after mentioning I wanted to make my own Christmas cards next year and then I found a link to this site http://www.sillymonkeycrafts.co.uk
in the grabitnow forum because of the sale and I managed to spend some of my birthday money buying some of the little things I had to have hehe
So now my plan for the year is make - easter cards, birthday cards, graduation cards, christmas cards.
    Sweetie bouquets for birthdays
    Cinema hampers for anniversarys
Not thought as far ahead as Christmas making gifts (have bought a couple of gifts though)
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together

Thanks rainmac - I think I'll make a few bells. I have some little silver bells that DD bought me for my birthday, I could attach these to the bottom or try putting them inside and see if that works. I didn't really make anything for Christmas 08 apart from cards, but have done in previous years. I'll definitely be making more this year so will have to ttry to keep up with this thread!
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)
  • i have loads i want to make for xmas 09 but i'm too scared to make a list lol, thought i would do some cross stich pressies as i find it really relaxing and also wan tto try my hand at card making and lots of other new stuff i would like alot of my 09 pressies to be home made as the little bits and bobs i made my mum went down really well, but i'm to scared to write my list !!!!!!
