Hi all you scarpbookers I want to make the jacobs ladders for my grandchildren but I'm not a scrapbooker so which adhesive/tape will work best please for scrapbooking with chipboard coasters and papers? I don't have any special adhesives so I don't want to spend a fortune buying lots of different ones and them be wrong, obviously Acid Free but no idea what else.... Tape or Glue??!!

I found a tin in the cupboard that I got a Jamie Oliver mug in at Xmas last year and have turned it into this with a bit of scrapbook paper and some double-sided tape, what do you think...

All the contents co-ordinates with the same paper and it all just about fits in the tin. I think it's a very cheap but pretty pressie ;)

sethsgran, I use both double-sided tape and 'wet' glue depending on what I'm wanting to stick. For the coaster calendars and post-it note holders I've made I have used Scotch Scrapbooker's glue (got it in Tesco) which is a wet glue in a tube and it's brilliant, sticks brilliantly but gives you a few seconds to position and move your paper around if you need to to get it in the right place. HTH ;)

rainmac - thats brilliant !:T You always do have a way of putting things together just right................love the colours :j

I've just done two coaster note pads..........one with the bull dog clip and one with a big paper clip..........I'd got some little pens with a snap on clip so they snap on the coaster in purple and green then found some little pieces of paper -lilac and pale green. Now I've run out of purple/lilac paper............

I'll finish off sons pile of pebbles tomorrow and that'll be another pressie done. Not sure who's having these note pads............I seem to have been doing so many notebooks of one sort or another............:rotfl:

rainmac - I've got a small hatbox that needs covering........don't know why I've never done anything about it before but now you've given me the idea........mind you, all the notebooks and stuff I've done don't really go together .........think I should 'plan' a bit better................lol

Still can;t work out how those notepads with the bulldog clips work............I've done one and have to undo the bulldog clip to take the paper off:confused:

Don´t know if this will help anyone, but a card maker I know uses a dab of bath silicone to attach bits and pieces together (esp useful when making decoupage) as it gives you a bit of time to get things in the right position and doen´t have `instant´ grab

  • Decided to have a play about this afternoon and made some sock snowmen(thanks to owens3116 for this post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1895357&highlight=sock+snowmen)

I was only going to make one but got carried away:o the hat and scarf sets were made by my mam originally meant for sock monkeys:D

I love these!!! A while back I got some cheap white cotton socks in the 99p shop. Think they were once made for a supermarket from the packaging. But they had 4 pairs in, so might see if they have any lurking. Failing that, will give good old primark a try.

Actually I say this, i'm hopeless at knitting!! May have to use other materials to make a hat and scarf!
