Seths Gran - well done on your achievement. I too have a lot of weight to lose but find it really hard due to other health problems. Those dolls are so lovely and I think the price you paid was not bad seeing as you will be able to use the patterns again and I dont blame you for treating yourself, I would have done the same if I had seen them at a show as I have fell in love with them too and know the girls would too. It was the price on the site that I was commenting on even though they were in dollars.

Mrsmcawber - well done to you too.

The price does seem daunting but then I try to remember that it is in Australian dollars. Why do we women feel that we need to justify what we spend crazy aren't we. Thanks for your kind words also

  • Hope everyones having a nice New Years Eve so far, I'm off for an afternoon nap soon, so I can stay up late partying tonight :D

I've made a start too on xmas 09 aswell- by organising a monthly meet up with a couple of friends at my house, where we'll all drink, craft for christmas and be merry together. A brilliant excuse for some mse, crafty, girls only time. First meetup wont be til 25th Jan- ages away so I've made a start on several bits and bobs and made a list of what I'd like to make for who.

Love the idea of the ball of life lol. Might have to make a few of those for next year.
I just got some card making kits & am really looking forward to having a go at making them. www.sillymonkeycrafts.com had 75% off just about all the bits I got so I don't feel so bad about buying them.

I did balls of life this year, wrapped the tennis balls in cellophane and attached a tag with the verse on. All recipients thought they were good :D

I think a meet up for a craft and wine evening is a fab idea! Thing is if I started something like that I wouldn't be able to give any of my friends Christmas craft as presents!:rotfl:

I have bought a pattern off Amazon this week, hard backed less than £2 plus delivery good eh?

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/reader/1844482170/ref=sib_dp_pt/279-7785389-3247620#reader-link

The pattern is for the animals buildings people and farm rug/mat. I am going to do this for 1 of my grandsons he will be 1 in a few weeks so by next christmas almost 2 so should be ready for it by then.
