Hello, I followed the crafty for christmas 2008 thread but I thought it was time I actually started posting!

    This year I made:

2 x knitted hot water bottle covers
    Flannel reindeer
    snowman soup
    crochet hook roll
knitted doll (never actually finished and is sitting in my sisters study, naked.. I'll send clothes at some point!)

This year I'm going for BIGGER. Well actually this year I want to learn to quilt so we'll see how that goes.

My boyfriend bought me the Sew Pretty Homestyle book by Tilda which has some gorgeous stuff in so I'm pretty sure quite alot of my christmas presents for 09 will be from there. Although saying that he also bought me the Happy Hooker crochet book. Oooh so many choices!

At the moment though I am crafting for my sister who is pregnant and due in February (although its looking for like January so I really need to get started!) I can knit a baby blanket in a few weeks..maybe.

    :rotfl: Super name!!

Also, can't remember where it's posted, but thank you Rainmac for posting the link to the Mulled Wine gift sets - looking forward to making them next year! Could be a good seller at Craft Fairs??!!

welcome, the more people involved the more ideas we get and more problems can be solved when making things, it's nice know there are other people in this world who love creating things as I no of none near me.:cheesy:

Wow those dolls are lovely but very expensive to buy the kit. Think I will have a go at making my own pattern for something similar as I am sure all the girls in my family would love these kind of things.
I agree they are expensive however I decided to buy 1 as I have reached some personal milestones during the last year and my DH and children keep saying that I always buy for others and not for me. Daft thing is the dolls will be for grandbabies not me but the joy is in the making and giving isn't it. This is my once in a life time moment. I have a huge weight problem and last summer could hardly walk because of it. I still have stones to loose but I have lost a large ammount and when I went to the show I actually walked from the station to the show, approx 1/2 mile not much but it is downhill so we all know what that means when going home. I walked around the show for hours with a silly grin on my face at my achievement!

Thank you that is so kind of you. My halo has slipped this week and I have gained over 8lb during the last few days, believe me I do gain that quickly. Prior to the holidays it was over 4 and half stone and still want to loose 9 and half stone, how gross was I?? !!!

Not gross at all -and just think -"you will never weight that much again";)

I was on a roll until about June when we had to dash back to the UK as my sister was terminally ill -at that point it all went out the window..but in the scheme of things I don't care -other things were far more important.. I did promise my sis that I would get to a healthy weight as she was so thrilled for me and how much I had lost... It has taken until last weekend for me to decide to get my bum back into gear:p I had lost 8st ..I have gained a bit back -but it will be gone again soon :T plus the rest -crafting really helps...
You will get there..and those lovely knitted dolls will help ;)

Well done to both of you for losing so much weight, everybody gains a couple of pounds over christmas, the trick is to carry on the good work as of now and not to dwell on it as a negative thing.
I am in the process of compiling my list of things to make this year but so far it goes
    home made pj's for DD1,2,3 and 4
Advent calendar for niece and great niece
Gingerbread man garland for the fireplace and some for the tree for my sister 2
Pots of gold for work colleagues
I am looking for something special for my sis1 who loves Victorian decorations on her tree
DD1 and DD2 want a special angel for their trees 1 pink and 1 black!!
I also want to make 6 new christmas stockings in cream and gold for next year as the red ones look odd in my front room!
    2 rag dolls for neices
    something for my granddog!!
thats for starters Hopefully I will post pics as I complete items and you will all do the same:tongue:

    Hi everyone,
Going to try and join in on this one this year! I've been reading everyone's ideas and I'm really excited about trying some.
However, I am intrigued by the following and would be really grateful if someone could explain what/how I make them:
    - Pickled boobs/bums
    - Survival kit
    - Balls of life
    - Photo baubles

Many thanks and happy crafting :rotfl:
