I think this coming year will be The Year Of Jordan Shannon getting her bum into gear, making money and getting crafty. Do you think it would be rude of me to make some of these products, such as candles and easter sig bunnies and sell them on ebay and craft fairs?? JW
Thanks.
..xx
Not rude at all! I'm hoping to do some fairs in the run up to Xmas and will be stealing err I mean using ideas found on here:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Hi
I would love to join this year if I can. Picked up loads of ideas from the 2008 thread and made quite a few of the things but my list is much longer for this year! I have already got two fairs planned for November and a huge gift list, so we'll see how it goes.
I had a go yesterday at making an advent wreath and I have to say I am really pleased with it. I picked up a pile of plain green wreaths (artificial of course!!!) in the Asda sale reduced from £2.97 to 50p and an advent string with 24 pastel coloured xmas trees strung along it each with a little pocket for a sweet or something, reduced to £1 in Tesco. Not a very good explanation I know!
Anyway, I have strung the advent trees around the wreath and added a huge bow in the middle and I have to say it looks fantastic. Really expensive looking. I am going back to Tesco today to try and get some more of the trees and then will post a picture later. I think they could sell for about £7-£8 at a good fair and only cost £1.50!!
Sounds great, looking forward to seeing your pics :j:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Trouble is I can't repeat this years gifts as they have all been done, so the challenge will be to find new ideas
.
My first idea is to make fabric advent calenders for the 3 youngest members of the family and rag dolls as they are all girls..............
Any more idesa out there???????
Let the challenge begin ladies, we can do it, we can create lol:j
A couple of years back I made one. I made 24 small stockings from green and red felt and threded them onto thick silver thread. Then put it across the fireplace on 1st Dec as a surprise. Might not be such a good idea with chocolates in tho!

i really like the signature bunny dolls but the pattern looks a bit of a mess - has anyone used it? How many copies of it do you think I would need to be able to cut out all the bits?
Will have to print it off sneakily at work
Just looked at it again - does four of each seem right? All those lines are confusing me.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Hello, I followed the crafty for christmas 2008 thread but I thought it was time I actually started posting!
This year I made:
2 x knitted hot water bottle covers
Flannel reindeer
snowman soup
crochet hook roll
knitted doll (never actually finished and is sitting in my sisters study, naked.. I'll send clothes at some point!)
This year I'm going for BIGGER. Well actually this year I want to learn to quilt so we'll see how that goes.
My boyfriend bought me the Sew Pretty Homestyle book by Tilda which has some gorgeous stuff in so I'm pretty sure quite alot of my christmas presents for 09 will be from there. Although saying that he also bought me the Happy Hooker crochet book. Oooh so many choices!
At the moment though I am crafting for my sister who is pregnant and due in February (although its looking for like January so I really need to get started!) I can knit a baby blanket in a few weeks..maybe.May Grocery Challenge -£216/4000 -

I have 4 teenage nieces to buy for plus a teenage daughter so jewellery will be a great idea and one I haven't done yet for them. My eldest daughter (27) had a bracelet for her birthday and I made her a necklace and earrings to match it for xmas. Will have to look out for some more beads during the year as supplies on all the nice colours are running low. Last year I bought some bits from Primark when they were reduced to silly prices and used the beads.
Would like some ideas for knitting for boys as have 2 nephews aged about 12 and 13 plus 3 grandsons aged between 7 and 10. The 3 younger ones had sock monkeys this year which they loved but want something different for next year.Married 19th May 2011 to the love of my lifeCross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44CSC Challenge - to complete LEGS by end of December

Hi everyone, I loved making some of the things suggested this year so am really looking forward to trying some new things for 2009!
I'm going to try to teach myself to knit as I want to make some hotwater bottle covers, Next had some adorable ones that I plan on copying if I can.
The best response I got was for the vinyl bowls and flannel reindeers, so I'll make lots more of those next year, my canvas bags turned out better than expected too.
I started making little blackboard hearts but didn't get time to finish them, I also want to make some home made cards, I brought some fab papers in the tesco sale.
oo I think I had better start a list!!0 -
