SethsGran and MrsMacawber - Think you are both amazing - I need to lose a similar amount of weight (hoping to start in the new year) and you've really inspired me - it's good to know it can be done!!!

    Hi everyone,
Going to try and join in on this one this year! I've been reading everyone's ideas and I'm really excited about trying some.
However, I am intrigued by the following and would be really grateful if someone could explain what/how I make them:
    - Pickled boobs/bums
    - Survival kit
    - Balls of life
    - Photo baubles

Many thanks and happy crafting :rotfl:

Hello :D Hope I can help with some of these...

Survival kit - a little selection of items that signify something such as a cracker: have a cracking xmas; a penny coin: so xmas doesn't leave you penniless; a starburst sweet: for a burst of energy when you need it; a smiley face sticker: tis the season to be jolly... Lots of ideas here and here.

    Ball of life - http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=1928

Photo baubles - these are clear xmas tree baubles that open so you can put photos inside. I bought some from Boots this year but at £5.99 for 4 thought they were quite £££ so hope to find something less pricey for next year.

As for pickled boobs and bums, think I'll leave that one for mary to explain :D:D:D

Love the idea of the ball of life lol. Might have to make a few of those for next year.
I just got some card making kits & am really looking forward to having a go at making them. https://www.sillymonkeycrafts.com had 75% off just about all the bits I got so I don't feel so bad about buying them.
    Hugs

Seths Gran - well done on your achievement. I too have a lot of weight to lose but find it really hard due to other health problems. Those dolls are so lovely and I think the price you paid was not bad seeing as you will be able to use the patterns again and I dont blame you for treating yourself, I would have done the same if I had seen them at a show as I have fell in love with them too and know the girls would too. It was the price on the site that I was commenting on even though they were in dollars.

Mrsmcawber - well done to you too.
  • Firstly well done to sethsgran and Mrs Mac - I keep telling myself I can be almost anything I want to be.........but it's not thet easy!!!!!!!

I haven't made one of these but this year I was mother of the groom and I took the following:

1 Sandwiches, sausage rolls and something (non alchy) to drink (my mob are not at their best when they're hungry and the wedding breakfast was a long time after ordinary breakfast!!!!)

2 Aspirin and some stronger pain killers

    3 Tissues

4 Sewing kit and extra safety pins

5 Brush, comb, hairspray, makeup etc

6 A couple of pairs of spare tights

7 Would have taken hat pins had it been windy

Luckily very little of this was needed but safety pins and aspirin were called for - and the food was fallen upon as a life saver!!!

It will be my turn to be mother of the bride in 2009 so I shall watch out for any other ideas posted!!

    Happy New Year to everyone.
