Turkey horribly off - advice for takign back please

    You're missing the point. How is anyone supposed to use up an entire turkey in one day when there is so much else to eat. In any case, who wants such a short-dated turkey? Poultry can "turn" in the blink of an eye. I would have been furious if I'd had a "fresh" turkey delivered with such a short use-by date.

    No store is mentioned, I wonder, by the wording of the original post, "this is not just christmas food, this is *** food"??!!

    I hope the OP gets a full refund for the turkey.

    the sell by date only applys in its raw state
    once its cooked it becomes a 'new' product with an applicable shelf life

    Use by to me is "cook by" -cold meat from it then is on a "new clock".

    when you get to the point of carrying adrenaline epipens for items that are always in the kitchen it gets a bit risky to say the least
    i was left with the option of giving up fine dining and cooking in crumby little places or just forgetting the lot
    i tried the crumby little places but it wasnt for me
