It all depends on personal preference and what you want to do with it.
You will be better off reading through the thread and learning about other peoples experiences so you can make an educated decision on what to put onto yours.
This thread is still very new and a lot more will be discussed after this point too.0 -
My thanks to 'RAMIT'.
Please excuse my basic knowledge but I remain a bit confused.
The link takes me to a page with 3 options - I presume 'WinFast Navigator CE' is the correct option?
If it is I have unzipped the file but that in turn creates 3 zipped files and thats it - I'm lost.
Could I trouble you for an idiots guide please - thanks again.0 -
I have added all links to the first post to make them easier to find0

Hope the below link helps - It is a guide to the tool: http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/winfastnavigatorppc.php
Basically, when you unzip the file you should get 3 zip files (cab files) and an install.exe
Connect your pda via the usb lead and ensure activesnyc has recognised it. Then click on the install.exe on your pc and it will download and install the software on your pda.
(Note, if like me you don't have activesnyc on your c:, then the install.exe simply fires up a window, shuts it and does nothing!!! In this instance, copy across the Navigator.ARM.CAB file to your storgage card and click on it WITHIN your PDA. This will install it onto your PDA.
Hope that is clear!0 -
Just noticed that the AA is selling the same PDA (mio branded) with thier software for £299.0

A lot of information and add-ons for the Medion Navigator can be found here:
http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.navifriends.com&langpair=de%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools
But its a German translation so is awfully hard work! I think I have a POI / speed camera warning system for the Medion Navigator now. Need to test it but it supposedly works. There are also skins etc ... all are free on the above forum. You need to be registered to download / see downloads but fortunately there is some English support (e.g. manuals).
As a start I suggest setting up the POI Observer
English Instructions Here:

It looks difficult but really is step-by-step!
If anyone digs out any more usefull apps from the site let us all know!0 -
In addition to 'The Core Pocket Media Player' mentioned in earlier posts, if you have a non OEM version of Nero 6 or above, you can get the latest beta version of 'Nero Digital Showtime for the Pocket PC' for free.
Here's a review:
http://www.msmobilenews.com/page/835/
and here's a link to the Nero download:
http://www.nero.com/en/Nero_ShowTime_Mobile.html
It will allow you to playback movies encoded into nero digital on the Mio, however, from the tests I have done, 'The Core Media Player' knocks spots off the Nero attempt. Movies encoded at high bitrates, that play fine on TCPMP, tend to stutter on the Nero player but it's OK for lower bitrates. It will also attempt to play AVC profiles but the Mio's CPU hasn't the heart to pull it off. The main plus point for the Nero player is that it will allow playback of the nero digital audio codec but it is still very beta in my opinion.
FWIW: I have uninstalled the Nero player; I'll try the next version.
For those who want to playback movies created with nero digital (non AVC profiles) using TCPMP, the AAC plugin is here: http://www.rarewares.org/aac.html
Just install the latest version of TCPMP, restart, then install the plugin, then restart.
Here'a link to Mame for the older boys that spend their youth playing space invaders in arcades. Still needs some work in my opinion but glad to have it all the same. Only tried a few roms though but galaxians played quite well. Anyone know if this is the best implementation for the Mio?
