twe,
To turn the buttons off to stop then turning the pda on you need to go to Setting > System Tab > System Utility > Wakeup Tab. You will find the checkboxes there to turn them off.
The homepage buttons can only be done using a tweaking program I believe I read somewhere0 -
oh i know about the wakeup bit, but was wondering how he changed it to load the navigator program, etc with the buttons..... sorry for the confusion....
and do u know what the name of that tweaking program is? thanks...0 -

I have spent all day looking for a divx player for mine and I have found a player called The Core Pocket Media Player which plays everything.
You can download it here:
http://corecodec.org/frs/download.php/366/tcpmp.arm.cabs.0.71.zip
Unzip it, put tcpmp.arm_ce3.cab onto your memory card and run it from your pda.

Help please!
I have the micromaxx PDA.
I have installed TomTom on it and it works fine BUT despite the fact that it does have a satellite lock and will navigate perfectly it shows that it has no satellite signal.
The 'bars' show no signal - tap on those and the bars have '0 satellites' shown below - tap on that and it shows 'No valid GPS signal!' but the display shows 8 satellites tracked with a good strength.
Any thoughts please it works but claims to have no signal - the screen even colours correctly (goes grey if no signal)??
Its just that I want the 'strength bars' to work correctly.0 -

Believe it or not I missed it but here it is in all its glory
Thanks Haymishhaymishpupkin2 wrote:I have a few questions about the micromaxx MDPPC 150:
1. Has anyone tried the earphone socket? I am using an adapter to step my headphones down from the 3.5mm jack to the 2.5mm socket on the mio 168 but the sound distorts really easily due to a poor/loose-fitting connection, certainly not usable for mp3 playback unless I was completely motionless. I'm hoping it's the adapter that is the problem as this happens on my mio and a friends – both bought from KwikSave stock on Sunday.
2. Anyone tried the audio patch on this page at the mio site?
http://www.mio-tech.be/support/support_168.asp
3. Now I have installed outlook 2002 my avg antivirus software reports 'email scanner is not fully functional'. Does anyone know if avg works with outlook 2002? Is there another good/free antivirus program that will?
4. Active sync 3.8 and greater seem to be available free of charge from the MS website. Is it worth upgrading to a higher version?
5. Anyone know how to display the current firmware version?
6. Is it possible to surf the net on the mio, via the USB cable (USB cable connected to my main computer with broadband access)? Or do I need to get a wireless SDIO adapter and wireless router?
FYI:
If anyone is interested in watching Divx content on the MDPPC 150, there is a free divx encoder here: http://divx.ppccool.com/
and a free divx media player here: http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about.

I don’t know if these are the best free tools about as I've never used a pocket pc before today and I only found the utilities a few hours ago but they both seem to work well – I just converted an episode of Dad’s Army to DivX and watched it on my mio and I have no complaints at all.

I had a similar problem with my MicroMaxx PDA and solved it in the following way:
I used Leadtek's 'GPS Winfast Monitor' application (available on gpsworld site from the 'Downloads' section at http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=8), to change the messages sent by the Royaltek GPS.
If you get the application 'talking' to the GPS (Use the following settings:
Select serial 2 on COM1 and 4800) and then go 'Tools - Command - NMEA', you'll be able to change what messages are sent , and how often.
Changing the settings for the baudrate 4800 to the following will fix this:-
GGA 1 VTG 1
GLL 2 MSS 2
GSA 5
GSV 5
RMC 1
with all the User entries as 0.
Hit OK, completely exit and kill GPS Monitor, start your TomTom and you should get the correct display.
Hope it helps!0
