Can someone please confirm that the free spped camera posted in the first thread will work with v5 of Medion Navigator on a mdppc150 (Micromaxx) and I will not need v5.1 for that?

I have made this purely for the mdppc150 and mio 168, it will not work on any other units, it contains all the latest mobile, gatso and specs cameras and I will post updates when they are available.

is there a way to configure to make the sat nav software switch off along with the pc
any help re poi files please as the moment i change the port on manual settings the gps signal goes off what am i doing wrong0 -
anyone found any good cases for their medion/micromaxx?
I like the peil frama case on ebay but would need to remove the unit from the case to use the in-car holder provided with the gps - i know its not a major hassle but i can't help but think that the joystick on the unit is going to get broken by continually inserting and removing the unit from the case provided and it looks like the peil frama case may have the same problem. The krussel case on ebay uses the 'multidapt' system and has a car kit available - correct me if i'm wrong - but it looks like you need to screw the in-car part of the kit into the dashboard which i do not want to do.
Is their a leather case which has an in-car system that does not require permanent damage to your car?The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0 -

Some soldering skills required, otherwise one of the simplest circuits to do. Alternatively you can buy some earphones with a 'volume control' = variable attenuator already built in. Haven't seen any with 2.5 mm jack though so the 3.5>2.5 adaptor would probably still be required.
BTW all volume controls = pots = potentiometers have 3 'prongs' (=connectors) the middle one is the 'wiper'.

POI Observer does work with v5. i have had it installed for a couple of days now and it has run fine. However there is one gatso which i have gone past twice now and it has never 'observed' it once, i'm guessing it isn't on the database. The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0 -

Link didn't work for me?
I have the Micromaxx 150... is there an idiots guide to getting the best use of it.... ie: poi's, speed cameras, more voices etc etc etc ?>Use your judgement, and above all, be honest with yourself.I walk with the world & the world walks with me!I don't make bad choices!!! Other people just fail to see my GENIUS !!!!0 -

If the icon at bottom left does not have a little red box, then your GPS is on.
You can configure the SATNAV software to switch it on/off automatically when you start/stop it. Mine was like this by default, but it is possible that not all PPCs have the same configuration.
How do you do that?Use your judgement, and above all, be honest with yourself.I walk with the world & the world walks with me!I don't make bad choices!!! Other people just fail to see my GENIUS !!!!0 -
Just came across this thread over on PocketGPS. Its for a Firmware upgrade for the Mio168/Micromaxx/Medion PDA from somerfield. I bought one of these but couldnt get the signals meter on TomTom5 to work. Also it took ages for sat locks for Medion Navigator. I have installed the upgrade mentioned in this thread and TomTom now has Blue sat lock showing and the signal strength meter now works as well as Medion Navigator now locking in under 30 seconds.
Just thought I would let people know in case anyone else wants to try this.

Just got my Krusell case delivered today its very nice a perfect fit and dosent have a anoying plastic cover like the one that comes with the PDA over the screen.
Cant you just take it out the case when you want to use it in the car and use the bracket that comes with the PDA thats what im gonna do the Krussell case dosent harm the joystick as you take it out0 -
