If all else fails I shall ask someone else to download it for me. (I do not wish to hijack the forum with my problem). BTW will it work with the Micromaxx MM95563 or am I wasting my time anyway?
Cheers

I had lots of problems with my 168 with TomTom 5.21 loaded. It took a long time to lock onto the satellites and occasionally lost them when in use. I found this firmware upgrade and applied it:

The difference is incredible. It now locks on 10 times as fast and has been rock solid in use.0 -
ok on the Micromaxx PDA, after installing TomTom 5 & planning a route, the only way I can get a GPS signal is to *keep* doing this...
CHANGE PREFERENCES>>SHOW GPS STATUS>>CONFIGURE>>OTHER CABLE NMEA GPS>>GPS BAUD RATE 4800>>SERIAL CABLE ON SP2>>DONE
...all I'm doing after finishing with TomTom is going in the house connecting it up to my PC (for active sync).....if I then go outside again (to go somewhere else), to get a GPS signal I have to go through the rigmarole again....
CHANGE PREFERENCES>>SHOW GPS STATUS>>CONFIGURE>>OTHER CABLE NMEA GPS>>GPS BAUD RATE 4800>>SERIAL CABLE ON SP2>>DONE
Anyone know why I have to keep doing this? What is SP2 anyway?!!!0 -

Go to http://www.navifriends.com
then login and go to:
http://www.navifriends.com/phpbbForum/viewtopic.php?t=4435
Download
"POIConfigurator+ and Observer Installation For British Users.rar"
Included with this guide is the .nav file for POIConfiurator already setup with the pocket_gps database. You just need to get the bitmaps and sounds located correctly.
The guide tells you where to store all the files and where to locate the bitmaps and sounds. The bitmaps can be substituted using the ones with the pocketgps download - just keep filenames / locations the same.
You end up with a folder
C:\POIConfigurator+\Bitmaps\
and
C:\POIConfigurator+\Sounds\
filled with corresponding gatsoXX.bmp and gatsoXX.wav files. Where XX is the speed. Run POIConfig on the speedcam.nav and copy the observer.obs and sounds and bitmap folders to the POIobserver folder on the ppc.
Using this guide you basically end up with the same warnings but it will let you know the speed limit as well.
Hope that helps!
I will email you the files to update the zip you created if that is easier. Just let me know.0 -

Sure thing, unless you want to update the zip and I will host it, you seem to know a lot more than me0 -

I think this has something to do with the way TomTom receives signals. On mine even though it says no signals detected If I go into configure it shows the satellites all there and it works fine
try the below to try and fix it (from earlier on in the thread) I have yet to try it on mine as also have the original Navigon software on mine it may mess with that so left it as it is.Let us know if this fixes your problem will you..thanks

I tried doing that but i allready had version 10 of the software on mine.
This download is for version 9, what version are you running now? Is version 10 not as good as nine?0 -
Im running version 10 Firmware and have had no problem with TOMTOM 5.21 and usually get a lock within 30 seconds that has only ever been broken when going through the clyde tunnel0
