Wilf, Did I read that correctly?
'chop down tree'
I agree with Scrooge, I think people are very impressed when they see a young person doing something constructive. Good luck with the grants.
Scrooge, I have filled out son's passport form for a renewal which I thought would be quicker but no, also have to organise haircut for him before photo, etc and we are flying out to Lyon in three weeks so getting a bit tight. I worry about the photos because once I used a passport photo booth and followed the instructions but they rejected the photo at the passport office because they said it was too feint?
Still to do:
VAT return
Tax Rebate
List items on ebay.
Very busy at moment with hosting Italian students, got a horrible pair this week, no please or thank yous, their English is excellent, just bad mannered. Not sure I will continue with this.0 -

Yep, DeeDee, hope you've got that passport away today, three weeks is cutting it fine, but doable. Are you using the Post Office check and send? They should make sure everything is OK before it gets sent off. Costs another £8.00 though, groan.
I've just come back from DS's parent's evening, and he got a really nice report, so that was good to hear. Teacher says he has a real talent for drama (of all things), and is encouraging me to send him to classes. He seems really keen on the idea too.
I passed my exam with 88%, so I am really pleased about that, and I picked up two Cineworld tickets on the grabbit board for £1.00 each, so has been a good day today, all round.
Hope everybody is making progress on the challenges.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Hi wilf55
No worries love
I didn't realise that you didn't pay anything - knew that you didn't pay anything upfront but it wasn't til I looked into it properly that I found out that you pay for nothing - that's why I've started it
Good luck anyway, hope it's possible for you
JennyThanks Jenny, due to health problems I cant walk very far, but might see if dd's would be prepared to help

Morning all,
Well instead of going to the gym last night and finishing off my list. DH ordered a chinese takeaway and a couple of bottles of wine, to celebrate exam success, which was sweet of him. Another diet sabotage day though, aaah well.
So today I am getting my hair cut and highlighted and DS's passport sent away. I'm also going to go back through my posts this week and do anything in red outstanding. Not adding anything else though until that lot is caught up with.
Hope you all have a productive, happy day. It's so lovely seeing the sun shining again up here and the crocus flowers in full bloom.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

Hi All
Congratulations Scrooge on your exam success!!:j
Hope you enjoyed the takeaway, well earned, you'll soon work it off.
Passport - looks like I'll be paying extra for express processing ontop of the Post Office fee at this rate.
It is great to see the sun again and the little crocus's popping up their heads.
Have been to bank this morning but still to do:
Tax rebate form, decide if I am self employed or what?
VAT return, find receipts file
Passport renewal to finish, awaiting haircut tomorrow, then photo
I am doing stuff, just not what is on my list!0 -
Eeeeeeeek I hate rats wilf, I hope he was just passing by. Looks like you are going to be extremely busy tomorrow, with your grandaughter, great fun though!
Passport sent away, so that's a relief. I'm sure yours will be away soon too DeeDee.
Well done on the Betterware JennyJewel. I'm glad it's working for you.
I sold a bit of gold today for £35.00, booked a few more mystery shops and then got lured into the Monsoon 50% off sale. I spent £87.00, which is more than my £60.00 budget, but I am really pleased with my purchases. I'm off to rejig the budget now. It's going to be tight again this month, but what's new.
Keep up the good work everyone.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0
