Hi DeeDee, thanks.
I wouldn't buy the envelope, as it is not valid anymore, but this seller has a good guide underneath with some ideas on getting extra Tesco Points.
This quarter I bought and sold 21 DVD's and CD's, which qualified for 500 points each, then sold them immediately on ebay, which got me 10,500 points for £40.00 after expenses.
Bought and sold a mobile phone, which got me 2106 points for £15.00 after expenses.
There were quite a number of pick 5 items of food and get 500 points offers which I took advantage of too, that didn't really cost me any more than the food, because I would have bought it anyway.
Just that little lot above earned me 15000 points for £55.00 extra money, which equates to £600.00 of deals.
Next quarter, I am focusing on mobile phones, ink cartridges, buying Tesco points with Nectar card and the instant savings accounts, as well as the usual bits and pieces of shopping, to get me to another 15,000 points. Will also be looking out for anything worth buying and selling on e-bay for points too.
It's been good fun to be honest. Well done on the Eurotunnel trips, sounds like you already make very good use of the deals.
Have a wonderful holiday DeeDee, we are hoping to fly down to my mums this evening, but it is still a bit touch and go as to whether the flight will be cancelled.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. There is a great thread on the Up Your Income thread, DeeDee, that you might be interested in.
It's turn £100.00 into £10,000.00, it's got me quite excited about 2010, as it is quite entrepreneurial.
I've spent my first £50.00 today on childrens' Ladybird clothes in the Woolworth's sale that I think I can sell on at a profit, there were some great bargains. (If I can't I'll return them to Woolworth's). I got a £10.00 off code and 9% with Quidco.
I've also bought myself a book on amazon on making a decent return on e-bay, so I think I will take e-bay more seriously in 2010.
Last year, I made some money buying Gap children's clothes, in the Outlet store, on the 30% off ViP days and selling them immediately on e-bay, but I need to upskill here, to make a decent return.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Hi Scrooge,
Thanks for all that info. I had spotted the £100 into £10k on your list and have been reading it avidly. We are starting the New Year off badly with some big bills but because I had started a Freedom Fund three months ago the money is there to see us through to mid February. We have savings and no debts now but because of OHs self employment we never know what is coming in each month and whilst it usually comes in at some point the stress is horrible. So I want to do something about that.
I like the way the challenge is about belief and positivity and it is lovely having a whole fresh new year to start off.
Hope you managed to get away safely.0 -
Hi DeeDee,
I'm back, I had a lovely time visiting family, down South. I'm now back in the frozen North.
All the best for 2010.
I'm going to make a list of all the things I would like to do before the New Year starts, which mainly involves a really good deep clean, throughout the house and organising my files and January plan, ready for 2010.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Goals for Daring, Decisive December are as follows:-
Main Focus is the Kitchen:-
"When you create structures for the chaos in your life you free yourself. You free up your time and emotional energy for the good stuff." Dr Joan Minninger.
"It's hard to beat a person who never gives up" Ruth Babe.
"Let go of the fantasy that you can escape work by procrastinating. There is no path in life that requires no effort. Prepare yourself for making a commitment to your goal by recognizing that there are costs involved in both working and trying to avoid work. The choice is not working or not working, but which type of work: even feeling guilty because of procrastinating takes some effort. When you commit to a goal, you're committing to a form of work that brings ongoing rewards. When you procrastinate, you're choosing a self-punishing form of work.
Clearly, work is required when you decide on a goal, commit to the path, and continually stretch beyond your current abilities toward the goal. But it also takes work to feel unfulfilled and to maintain a list of unachieved resolutions". The Now Factor, Neil Fiore.

Here goes ....
1.15 pm and I did a fatal thing when I started organising my cupboard. I found an old stamp collection that had belonged to a Great Aunt, and immediately thought that it probably contained an unmarked Penny Black and that was my £10,000 sorted before the challenge had even begun. I'm an optimist.
Unfortunately, after spending a couple of hours checking catalogues online, I have come to the conclusion that I would be fortunate to get £5.00 for the whole collection. Now the decision is do I part with it for £5.00 or hang on to the collection for another 100 years???

Did a massive cooked breakfast for family, and just had a few grilled mushrooms and tomatoes for myself. Got to keep focusing on these ABS, it's January.
Off on a New Years coastal walk now with a crowd of people, with mince pies and mulled wine at the end, which i'll have to avoid. Oh the joys.
