Ooooo good quote.
I will pop that onto my diary me thinks.
Ok wardrobe now fully gok'd. one bag for the charity shop, one bag for the textile bin, one pile of expensive designer stuff to was go to the dress agency (just found out is closed down) not sure what to do with it now. Dont feel like listing it all on ebay. Any ideas?
Next on the list - order some vacuum sealing bags for the duvets - lightbulb moment. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Cavity wall is done. Didn't manage to hoover up but i have done a huge pile of shredding with receipts from the past couple of months, and the computer area is looking a lot tidier as a result.
I still need to have a good sweep up and tidy up outside later as there are still bits of brick dust and foam everywhere even though the guys tidied up a bit. I've also had to deal with the neighbours whinging because it had blown over into there garden too.
That's another biggie off the list at least.
cherisong i know exactly what you mean about lack of storage. It has been one of my biggest bugbears in this house, and we keep getting a bit better but never fully there. I am hoping when we do our next big job (the kitchen) then finally i will have the space i need. Currently we only have 2 cupboards and one drawer and it is a nightmare. 1 cupboard under the sink for cleaning stuff. The drawer has cutlery in. The cupboard has all our plates, glasses, bowls, mugs. Pans have to live on the cooker top, and the sides feel so cluttered. Every room was like that when we moved in though. Fitted wardrobes in our bedroom are a big help, and now we are also trying to have a major declutter but the kids have more stuff than we can reasonably store so it is hard going.0 -
Could you Ebay them as a job lot cheri? That would not take too long. You wouldn't get as much, but these are popular for people who want to buy for selling on at a small profit. Car boots or an advertisement in your local free paper or gumtree might work too.
I've thrown out nearly all of my size 14's now, so there is no going back. I am left with a motley collection of clothes which I will take inventory of on my next Gok session. I did dress very carefully for my business meeting today, though, and I think that it improved my confidence and performance.
Keep up the good work Michelle and for keeping your cool when faced with whingy neighbours.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Morning, my hundred day challenge is in two parts.
1. Goking my wardrobe and overhauling my look, while I hit my target weight of 9st 13lb and size 10 (100 days).
2. Succeeding in the £100.00 to £10,000.00 challenge (End of Year).
I need to be extremely focused, but I can't afford to neglect other areas of my life, and I am also going to enjoy myself.
I've got an idea for turning the now £2,500.00 into £10,000.00 and it involves simplifying a credit control system that is working well for a number of my clients and rolling it out to new clients through Accountants that I work with, and direct marketing. So this area will come under new business and will need 3 hours work a day, so I am going to up the target here.
All good fun.
Have a great day.

This quote rang true with me and I need to take a deep breath, as I've got a particularly difficult business call to make that I have been putting off all week. If I am going to move forward with my New Business I am going to have to be a lot braver, so I am going to trust that if I do one thing I fear every day that it will get easier. But I don't want to do things that I fear. Right said it and now I am going to do it.
I've just thought of a positive slant. "Any blessing ignored becomes a curse", therefore I have the blessing here of a client that could potentially be very lucrative. I am ignoring this blessing because I think that the client will be angry with me because the work is two weeks late. By leaving it longer to make contact the client is likely to get more angry, and I will almost certainly lose the client, therefore I have nothing to lose and everything to gain by getting in touch with the client now.
Lesson learnt - Keep my business promises in future to save me from this stress, which is why I have to stay organised. Oh the joys.
Outcome - client didn't notice that it had been late LOL.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
:TWell done scrooge, not only did you cross out everything on your list but you also conquered your fear and made the call. And it wasn't so bad after all - which is generally the case. Bet you feel much better now. :j Once again well done!
Wow, at the end of your 100 day challenge you will be absolutely beaming with pride. And I have every faith that you will achieve your £100.00 to £10,000 challenge by the end of the year.Save £12k in 2017 #14

Scrooge, I am guilty of sitting on things and they fester and sit in my brain until it becomes all consuming. That's how I've felt about debt, and only this week have I decided to look it in the eyes and tackle it. Really pleased the outcome was good.DC.

Thanks DC and Micron for your comments,
I think I am at the same stage as you DC. I have finally worked up the courage to face my real fears head on, and it was making me feel quite ill yesterday. One step at a time for me though, because this is new territory.
Today the fear that I am going to conquer is a Boxing Fitness class at the gym. This is the toughest class and the trainer makes Jillian look soft. Last time I went I felt very intimidated, but this time I'm going to look him in the eye and give him such a wallop, with my boxing gloves, that he's going to go flying.

Morning all,
There's been a lot of thinking going on here.
I have been averaging £350.00 a month, this year, on the £10.00 a day challenge, the majority of which comes from Mystery Shopping. I have decided to take a leap of faith and stop Mystery Shopping/Ebaying/Car Boots/Surveys/Point collecting etc, which takes up about 40 hours each month and i'm going to put those hours towards New Business instead.
Also, I now realise that my for my Special Project to work I need my New Business plan to work, so I am cutting S/P hours out too and adding them to the New business hours. So the new distribution of time looks like this.
As at 4th August:-
4/22 NSD's
3/22 AFD's
14/100 New Business Hours
1.5/22 Gok my and DS wardrobe hours
6.5/22 Fitness hours
4/31 Weight tracking inserts
5.5/31 Flylady hours
Overall I am not doing anymore hours, I am just focussing my time in the direction I want to move in.
