    That was my choice. Public spending seems to be largely done for what will improve the quality of life rather than for ideological reasons too.

    I lived in Hong Kong for 14 years, then the UK for 9, and have been in Oz for 18 months. I have multiple citizenships/right of abodes. Life is good here, but I don't know whether I want to live here forever. I'd really like to go back to HK but OH, who was not an expat brat growing up, doesn't think he could stand it permanently.

    Having many choices actually makes it harder I think, and I feel a little 'rootless' at times.
