Not to mention a very effective laxative.
How was your Chinese rog2? Nice to get your girls back?
kd glad your son had a good birthday and congratulations on the flat it sounds great.
Nats- you are still on the naughty stair:p
Last night OH said he is being TUPed in June or Sept not sure if he will be put on Gardening leave or if he will still be employedOh well I'll hide all sharp objects for the time being.
And to make today better DD2 has not got into her University of choice, her predicted grades are straight A's and she tries soo hard at everything but I'm telling her it's because there is somewhere better for her:rolleyes: we just have to find it.
Enough doom- I queried another of my daughters medical bills from BUPA and guess what, on looking into it more carefully they decided that the treatment was covered, 2nd time in three months they have sent us unnecessary bills. A year or so ago I would have just paid them both and been £384 poorer.
Oh well nearly time to pack up and go home:j
Take care all

Evening OBNW. Well done with the wallpapering! We have DIY to get done - must find the motivation!
I really don't understand why your DD hasn't got the Uni place if her grades are so good - any idea why? My DD will be applying next year and has her heart set on Nottingham - she'll be gutted if she doesn't get it there. I suppose it must be down to number of places available but you'd think they would want a straight A student. It makes you wonder why w encourage our kids to work so hard if they still get knocked back. My DD is the same as yours - works incredibly hard and has her sights set on medicine, which we know is hard to get into.
I'm not sure about the liq and wine combo! Prefer G & T! Hope you have a good evening mate.

Well done on questioning Bupa! I really just think some of these companies try it - and I know what you mean about last year you would have just paid it! I wonder just how many people do do that!!
(for some reason 'do do' still makes me laugh... can't believe I'm 30!!)
Sorry to hear about OH and DD - like you said, I'm sure something better will come along... I like to believe in the good old destiny thing... not sure if that makes me optimistic or naive?!?! But here's to optimism! :beer:LBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never

Emms -Destiny, kismet serendipity they are such lovely words it's got to be true (although not so much fate as it rhymes with hate:think: )
Lewbs- who knows whyshe did aim high though and maybe they took offense at something in her personal statement, anyway she seems over it now and thinks it could be a blessing in disguise(although if they came back I'm sure she'd jump at it;) )
Nats you can vacate the naughty stair and allow rog2 to sit there, as his last comment spoiled my enjoyment of my wine and liquorice last night
After two no spend days I had to break into the purse yesterday, my youngest is doing a level dance and has a huge bruise on her hip due to a 'move' in her exam routine, this keeps getting rebashed everytime she does it so I needed arnica for her. Now I'm thinking maybe I should not expect too much from this exam as any 'move' that causes that kind of damage surely can never be elegant.
Tonight I shall spend (my night to be rubbish at the pub quiz:beer:  and I can not disappoint the team:p
I opened a ing account for the £20 as per Martins email- I wonder if I will get it:rolleyes:
Ah well have a good one all

I'll take your word on the 'liqorice and wine' OBNW - but I'm definitely not convinced.
'Chinese' was good, except that we changed our minds and had an 'Indian' (daughter's choice).
Yes - definitely good to have them back.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Hello
Just popped on to say I am aliveand well and getting bored of this debt busting, I've been at it nearly three months now and it's still not all sorted:mad: I feel like I've been good and it should all be paid and better by now, I'm going to have to start throwing my toys out of the pram soon... oh talking of which I put some old text books on amazon last night.... should I be optimistic? Has anyone had much success with this?
I've been into town walking this morning and already clocked up 10,505 steps:dance: this is good ....oooo must ask Nats if she can incorporate my pedometer readings into the spreadsheet
Anyway I have overspent by about 20 squids this weekbut feel fairly unrepentant.... thinking Aunt Flo must be due for a visit
Anyway Have a great weekend all
