I parked my 4x4 properly in Tesco car park yesterday & when I returned I could barely get into my car because some thick ignorant Ka driver couldn't park their p1ss pot little car & parked at a 45 degree angle. I could just open my door enough to squeeze in:rolleyes:

Do I think ALL Ka/mini car drivers are crap parkers, no! I'm mature & rational enough to realise its just him that was a crap parker:cool:

I should hope not!! KA owners are simply the best drivers out there! :p

That one must have been stolen... :rotfl:

I'm actually a bit anal about parking - I have to make sure I have it straight and equal between the lines or I can't stop thinking about it while trying to shop! :o

The only times I leave it in a 'mess' are when I am ill or in a very big hurry, and even then I can't just dump it in the space.

As for not taking much notice, well even if they take a small amount of notice it may help! I think any emergency service would rather they looked than just said 'oh no its ok'!!!! And as for asking, well what if noone is conscious to ask ?

As I said in my post, they check around the scene anyway, especially if the wreckage suggests someone may have been thrown from the vehicle!

It makes no difference whether or not there is a sticker in the car, according to the ex-paramedic I was talking to.

He said the single most important thing people can do to help the emergency services is enter an 'ICE' contact in their mobile phone, if they have one.

Why not scrap the parent and child parking spaces and ban children from supermarkets. Would make them a much better place. Nothing worse than trying to do your shopping, and these wee b*ggers standing in your way, screaming the place down because mummy won't let them have that sweetie.
iam amazed at how many people let there kids run riot in supermarkets, iam fed up dodging htem and have recently hit a few with my trolley they soon scarpper of to the parents then
Live in my shoes for a week, then tell me your lifes hard!
  • Yeah the parents are usually just as bad. Standing there blocking the aisle while they have a chat with their friends! Totally oblivious to anything and anyone else around!
  • If you think a blue badge is being abused make a note of the serial number, the description of the user (male/female/young/old/glasses etc.) and the issuing authority and report it! Or report the matter to a traffic warden if one is local - they have the power to request sight of the picture on the other side.

If the person using it is genuine there will be no issue, if not the badge holder will be issued a warning - three strikes and the badge will be withdrawn.

Oh and before anyone questions me - I also have a disabled badge, but am fed up seeing other drivers who I suspect are not using their badge - like the mother getting out of her car and then able to lift the child's buggy from the boot and put her daughter into it!!

Personally I would prefer the USA system of a tag that hangs from the rear-view mirror so both sides are visible.

I did not say all 4x4 drivers do this, of course they don't. Any car driver can park badly, it did not mean to sound like I was singling 4x4 drivers out. It is just in my experience 4x4's can and do take up more space and so are more of a problem/more obvious when badly parked (and where I live there are a lot of [strike]the silly things[/strike] 4x4's ;).

They are bigger, so need to be straight & in the middle of the white lines I agree.
Normally a badly parked Ka would not be a problem, but this really was a 45 degree angle:rolleyes:

I have to agree wider spaces would be better for everyone! Cars have got bigger and big out of town stores want to cram in as many spaces as possible to maximise their sales so spaces are smaller. If anyone is unsure about the car getting bigger thing, how many people can get their car in a garage now and actually manage to get out of the door?
When I was 81/2 months pregnant a car parked so close to me I couldn't get into my car and had to wait for over an hour in the rain. I know I probably could have gone back into a shop but my parking ticket had run out and I didn't want to get a fine! I know some people will probably feel that, just like kids, pregnant women should be confined to their home too!
The fact is none of us has a god given right to a better parking space and we should be grateful for what we get! (IMO!:D )

I can park my car in my garage and get out of the door quite easily.
Maybe you should start a poll.
