Well after having spent an annoying afternoon with my OH who really needs to get out and get some fresh air all I can say is [strike]don't do it![/strike] how lovely - many many good wishes!:D;):T:T

Seriously though, I have been more or less happily married for 36 years and I would recomend it! I certainly wouldn't change him for anyone else - and I can say that confident in the knowledge that George Clooney will not be knocking on my door and begging me to run off with him!:o

That's because I'm next on the list (fingers crossed!).:D
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!
  • awwwww, seren! how romantic. sigh. And i've spent the day with my oh making terribly off colour jokes about cream and churning and . . well, i'm sure you can imagine. Still, I wouldn't swap him. do give us all the gory details we want to hear ALL about it!

another awww, but a different one for tagz. Can't believe they did that. must admit I'm a b&gger for not taking shoes off, but even i know stilettos and wood floors don't go. Well done FFM for being brave enough to wi. I certainly am not. Perhaps should have thought a bit more about this butter churn thing as we have eaten nothing but toast today. Buttered toast. And also scones because I HAD to use up the buttermilk, which was not like the buttermilk you get from the supermarket. I suspect it's because I was using fresh cream, rather than collecting cream over a week and it turning a bit which is the traditional way. It wasn;t very mse, but loads of fun and i'll definitely do it again, especially if i can find cheap cream. IT took about 40 minutes all in and you do actually have to use your back and shoulders to get it to go. I felt all little house on the prairie it was ace. butter churn is now on display in the lounge and has probably won title of 'best christmas present'. OH mum outdone herself! She's had some trauma with chrsitmas presents this year- she ordered a canvas print for OH's bro - a pic he took himself called 'chicago by night' she went to collect it christmas eve and they brought down a packaged canvas about 4x the size she expected. smelling a rat, she asked them to open it and was greeted by a portrait of 2 toddlers. She told them it wasn't right and got the reply - 'well, it's got your name written on the packaging'. Which just made me howl with laughter. I think they really thought she would go 'okay then, my mistake' and take the blimmin thing. eventually she got her print and left, but as she went they were frantically ringing everyone who'd made a collection that week and asking htem to check them . . . . .

Welcome all our new guys, must say am filled with admiration for anyone who can settle down and focus on weight loss right now. polkdot, I loved your story about hte size 20 blouse. I weigh in kgs too, but the lovely list fairy whomever she may be at the time has always converted my loss~(hah! who am i kidding?) into lbs.
  • Congrats Seren!! Fantastic news :)

Hope everyone had a great xmas, I had a fantastic day. Lunch was lovely (even if I say so myself ;) ) the five of us polished off a chicken, a huge duck and a pheasant (that I had to pluck myself ) pigs-in-blankets, a mountain of veg & stuffing! I couldn't eat a thing til lunch time the next day!
For newbies, do read post one for info. I am doing the chart at the mo - post your weight loss once a week on the same day (but any day that suits you) in bright bold letter for me to pick up on easily. I collect everything and post a chart on wednesday evenings. You don't need to tell us your starting weight (though you can if you want), the chart is about accumulated losses. THERE WILL BE NO CHART NEXT WEDNESDAY. THE FiRST CHART TO BE POSTED WILL BE WED 7TH JAN, SO TO HELP ME, ALL NEWBIES, OFFICIAL WEIGHT LOSS starts after next wednesday. (you can accumulate all you lose from now until then in your first 'weightloss' post if you want if you are starting sooner). Thanks. You can of course post unoffical weightlosses if it helps you before, in your usual small black font

BB I've added this to the first post too, I'll post my WI on monday as usual, but will add that & monday 5th as an official WI for the chart.

    Good morning everyone:)

Yes I say good morning as I just got up. I'm really not feeling well today-had a cup of tea but couldn't finish it, so I'm just going to have a meal replacer for now and back to bed.
x_raphael_xx is it normal for you to be up before 4am on a sunday-or do you live elsewhere?
  • Raph often posts at 4am, 5am, she is UK based - poss shift work?

I've been up several hours but am having a duvet day. We've had lunch but none of us have got dressed - might do soon.

Back to work tomorrow so enjoying not doing anything (and putting off doing the tax return.)

    FFM :)

Congratulations Serendisglair!!! Were you expecting it?

Good luck with your cycling FFM and those two races you're interested in doing. How are you measuring the increase in cycling you're aiming for, will you have distance/duration targets? Or are you still at the thinking stage? :)

Everything's on plan here, I was aiming for 2150 cals/day average this week but it will be more like 2000/day average (that includes a generous estimate of 3000 for my uncounted Christmas Day). I've done a full week's quota of exercise too so there shouldn't be too much damage at weigh in tomorrow!

Just getting on the bike will be a measurable increase at the moment :o

I have so many excuses lined up as to why I haven't been on the bike - it's too cold, too dark, I'm too tired ....

I did get as far as checking out the sunrise/sunset times 8am and 4pm at the moment. As soon as it hits 7am and 6pm I will be able to cycle to and from work - the only problem will be if I stay late, then again, maybe it's a good reason not to stay late. My usual route is through an unlit country park so that would be a no-no at dark (various lakes scattered around), the alternative is a dual carriageway - even the blokes at work say that is too scarey.

Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow.

    FFM :)
