Oh dear
I do put all my main exercise posts over in the exercise thread and I only usually do summaries here, but I know I've been talking about it more lately so point taken and I apologise.
Please don't do any more than you personally are comfortable with and that is medically safe.
Missy please do not stop posting your summaries on here, my post earlier was a combination of me waking up with such sore knees it took me about 3 minutes to crawl down the stairs, a certainty in my mind that I had not lost weight this week, just generally being in a bad mood and then checking on here and seeing all the HA challenges I just sort of threw my dummy out of the pram:o:o
But now my pain killers have kicked in, I have had my breakfast and I have had my weigh in and my mood has improved somewhat!:D
I do apologise if I upset anyone earlier, of course you must carry on doing all that you can to assist your weight loss. To be honest if I was younger and fitter I would be there in the midst of you all.
Also thanks to BB, Victory, and Bails and everyone else who gave such fantastic replies to my post. You guys are what makes this group to wonderful - a place where we are free to say what we think, knowing that you will get listened to, understood and comforted! Thanks guys:A:T

Marion, you star:D 1.5lbs:T . And I'm sure no one was upset - you merely expressed how you felt sometimes and I admire you for being able to say it, truely. And as you say, this forum is so supportive, it should be safe to express, such things and I think we have benefitted from the subject coming up.
I would add, that my stairs exercise is double the norm today :A as we have no running water in the kitchen, so have to fill the kettle from the upstairs bathroom for everything.
Green Menu today
bkfast: boiled egg & HEB toast
lunch HM tomato & lentil soup
dinner: mediteranean bake ( fill remoska with sliced aubergine, corgettes, onions with HEA feta & red cabbage
bedtime snack: weetabix
general snacks: raw sweet potato & fruit
Hope to be fit enough for sw meeting tomorrow, having missed session last week. Not terribly optimistic at the moment about outcome though:oI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Thanks BB
Quick posting of my eating plan.

Hi guys, i feel kind of responsible for all this exercise/HHE chat, honestly like i said in my post to explain it, its like having a virtual fitness buddy it's in no way a competition. Maximum Impact is the name of Nell McAndrews DVD and i am truly suffering from it today. I never wanted to make people upset or anything. i think we went HHE mad but it's calmed down lately. Please post your meal plans, don't feel like you can't, sorry for taking over the thread. As others have said do what you feel comfortable with, we are all varying ages and fitness levels, etc but thats what makes this thread great :T
Back to weight loss news, done my weigh in today and i'm happy to report a 4lb loss i think i lost most of that last night :rotfl:

Just popping in, lost 2lbs this week :j
I'll try and post more, mainly I just lurk and read.
I haven't exercised at all during my weight loss, but now I'm slimming down, Im going to have too unless I want wobbly bobbly bits. I know sit ups are good for the tum (I can't do them atm, until I get a lump removed from my back)
Anyone reccomend anything for wobbly thighs? I've got weights for my bingo wings!
I lack motivation to stand and do a workout dvd, plus my neighbour below me would report me to the council again, she's a mean ***** she phones and reports me every week because my 2yo runs too loudly
Can you imagine her reaction to a 13stone body jumping up and down, instead of my DD's 2stone oneActually might be worth doing that just to annoy the crabby moo.

Hello guys,
just stopping by to report a 4lb loss this week. :j
My friend, who asked me to 'buddy diet' with her when I saw her at Christmas, and I have had our own 1st weigh-in today (we started 1/1/09). She's lost 3lb too, although I think she'd hoped for a lot more, but she's part way on a long journey (from 18st to 12st, currently at 16st). She's previously done lots of 'quick fix' diets, so has done Cambridge, and last time Lighter Life, but the weight goes back on as soon as the diet ends at goal weight, and it goes back on fast! This time she's addressing her addiction to sugar/carbs, and hoping that a healthy eating plan, with a slower pace of loss, will mean she'll finally keep the weight off. Anyway, I digress!
I had anticipated maybe only a pound or so this week, so I am well chuffed with 4! It puts me over the 5lb target for January, so think I will set myself a further challenge to get to 10lb by the end of Jan. I definitely believe the FoodFocus website has been helping me stay on track too.
Well done to all you losers/STS's.:TOne day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Hello! Can I be in this thread?
I am not severely overweight (5ft 3 and about 9 stone) but I have suffered from frustrating bloating and chronic constipation for many years and have never had a diagnosis. I think I have been suffering from some kind of overeating disorder. I've only just realised that lately. I have never really had any control over how much I ate at a time.
To me, the amounts I was eating were "normal" and I was constantly amazed that other people ate so little! I've never had much of a problem with eating healthily, (I am a former vegetarian and just LOVE my veggies!) but it's HOW MUCH I eat that's been the problem.
I have switched to smaller portions (I think I used to eat about three times as much!) and I do not allow myself any second portions. I snack between meals if I'm hungry. The bloating has stopped, and I'm hoping as a side-effect to lose some excess weight off my tummy, hips and thighs. I would like to lose about half a stone, but I will just need to wait and see how my body reacts once it settles down to the new smaller amounts of food I'm putting into it!0 -

Welcome to the group chopandchange - they are a nice lot on here:D;) I am glad that your stomach problems have settled down somewhat but if you don't mind me asking - what amounts did you consider too much in your previous eating?
I'm not asking jut to be snoopy (although I am a little bit:D), its just that I have always had what they used to call "a healthy appetite" Of course there wasn't much that was healthy about it and I eventually ended up in a very overweight state (which I am now dealing with):o I do still eat fairly large quantities though, although with SW it doesn't seem to be a problem.:j

Hello Marion! I don't mind you asking and I don't see it as snooping. I really don't know how much in terms of weight or measurements. All I know is, from when I was small I was always the one of the three girls in the family who would eat a piled up plate of food, finish before anyone else, and then always be saying desperately, "Mummy, is there any more?" It always made my sisters laugh. I wouldn't go so far as to say I am greedy (never been into "pigging out") but I just really like my food. I ate too much too fast, and always had second portions. My mum has always fondly referred to me as having a "healthy appetite" (she still does), but I am starting to realise it's actually very UNhealthy.
I have read loads of websites on portion control and they all talk about measuring or weighing your food. I don't want to become that obsessive but I am now coming to terms with the fact that, as an adult, I have absolutely no idea of how much is the "right amount." I just stare at the plate helplessly and keep asking my husband: "Is that the right amount?" After years of never bothering to notice, I also have no idea how to know when I'm full up and should stop eating. I know the feeling of hunger all right, but don't know how to listen to my body and stop eating. I ALWAYS clear my plate. Just keep eating till it's gone. It seems to have been brainwashed into me as a child! So I have developed my own method, as follows:
What I have for breakfast is a bowl of porridge with a muffin or slice of toast on the side. Thinking about it, I realised I NEVER get bloated after breakfast. It's always been lunch and tea. So in terms of bulk, the amount going into that porridge bowl is the right amount, but the amount I am having at other mealtimes, on a plate, is too much. My tummy is protesting about it.
So now, I make my lunch or tea and when it's cooked I put some into that bowl, to measure the same amount as I would have if it was porridge, and then transfer it to my plate. That's all I allow myself to have. I do allow myself a bit of bread with it and if I still feel a bit hungry afterwards I might have a yoghurt or something. I am also allowing myself one snack between each meal if I start to feel genuinely hungry.0
