I work in an office (mostly) and today I have done so many trips from my desk at one end of the office to the printer, I must have covered miles - don't know if my colleagues have noticed my 'power walking' :rotfl:

    FFM :)

When I worked in financial services I tried power walking to burn off extra calories - and fell off my 4 " stillettos in front of the whole office (120 people!) and twisted my ankle! Oh the shame!

Maybe you have IBS? might be worth seeing your doctor if it doesn't improve.

Thanks for your advice. I am aware that I have a milk allergy or intolerance (you don't want to know what milk does to me!) so I have cut that out. I have been to countless doctors. All they ever did was offer me chemical laxatives, which I refuse to take because they are not treating the cause but the symptoms and I am very wary of laxatives because they can be addictive I hear. I tried taking one once and it terrified me, it made me feel so ill. No one has ever taken me seriously. One doctor got impatient and in the end said to me, "you've had it for years so if it were something serious such as bowel cancer or an intestinal obstruction, by now you would have died. It must just be IBS. "

I then turned to the "natural remedies" I found on the Internet, and tried juice fasting, raw fruit & veg diet, enemas, colon cleansing, prune juice (yuck, yuck, yuck!) linseed and switching to wholefood everything. I was still bloated. That was years ago. I lost about half a stone in the process, and was really pleased, but since it didn't fix the bloating I lost motivation and started eating "normally" again and put the weight back on.

So now I am really pleased that I finally seem to have got to the bottom of it: I was just eating too much! Easy, really. Why didn't I see?

Anyway, I don't want to hi-jack this thread with my medical problems. I do apologise! I will try to stick to the topic of weight loss.

Ideally I would like to lose some weight through portion control (not a "diet" but just a change in how much I eat) but I don't know if I will because I am now exercising. My thighs, for example, are a lot chunkier than they were when I was unfitter, because I've put on muscle. So maybe due to my muscle I won't ever make my goal of losing half a stone. Maybe my goal should be "turn the flabby bits into muscle" instead.

Chop, I know what you mean about muscley thighs, when I was much younger and into cycling in a 'big way' I had very sturdy legs - my thighs were a 'sight to be seen' :rotfl: . I love cycling - but not too keen on the overall effect on my legs. It's a very hard thing to balance.

I love prunes :happyhear . Have you tried the Activia with prunes - might help on the bloaty feeling - I just love the taste - not sure about their claims to it easing bloated tums though.

Sounds like you have seen the same doctors as my OH, they were useless and its all the medication he's on that made him like it in the first place. As muscle weighs more than fat weight loss can't be the only guide, i am doing weight loss and inch measurements. You will know yourself if you are changing regardless of what scales say :)

FFM thanks for joining me :) I am still sore from yesterday so did Core Stability to relax, seems to have done the trick :T Mazza, thats correct it just means i was doing some exercise and if anyone wanted to join me, then we have a virtual fitness session going on, you can do anything though housework, curtain rails, wii fit, skipping, etc.

Reporting a 1lb loss this week.

Just back from salacise! A good laugh but I couldn't keep up. Followed off with an hour of pilates. So that is my HHE for the next 3 days taken care off:p
