o.m.g. i am so shocked that i got a response, thank-you. I shall let you know how i get on tomorrow.funkyfunkymonkey wrote: »Hello sunlight :hello:
I'm certainly not advanced on the Wii Fit, I've only had mine since Friday. The best advice I can give is to get on it and have fun. After you have tried out the different types of exercise - aerobics, yoga, muscle, balance etc it will all begin to make sense.
Watch out for the jogging though, my calfs are killing me and I think it may have been that that caused it - I've only done 3 x 5 minute sessions (and on different days)

Hi all  or should I say hola!
I haven't had much time online but I've got a whole two hours tonight, so I'm taking the opportunity to catch up a bit. Great to hear about the HHE's - it took me a while to figure out what it was, but then it all became clear.
Hi to the newcomers
Catch you again soon

Glad you having a good time Lois, the mountains looked beautiful! I am having a look at your blog entry everytime you post - yay for MacDonalds:T

welcome deb! hope you like sw. retiredlady is currently our sw poster girl so she will be able to give you lots of tips.
well done fred!
sunlight I've had my wii fit for a few months now and still enjoying it. I do 30 mins a day anbd alternate aerobic/yoga/aerobic/muscle/aerobic/balance to keep my heart rate up. I can't do all the exercises as I don't have the room, but i force myself to do the ones i don't like - press ups and parallel stretch. I was doing okay on normal for the ps, but then to go advanced it bumps up to 60 seconds which i find quite hard - my arms and elbows start to hurt on the board. My tips are be careful with the hula-hooping - i was advised that you can really mess your knees up with it; and get some water bottles to use as hand weights when you are jogging, stepping and for some of the muscle movements. Oh and to boost your points on the boxing, when it gets to the freestyle time don't go for proper punches, just waggle the remote and nunchuk and it really boosts your score. I did it properly for ages and got tired of him telling me i wasn't much cop, and the trainer says i'm ace!(i still do it all properly in the full workout though.
mmmm tomato juice . . . . i'm allowing myself a glass a day. i love tomato juice, always have.0 -
Got that FFM - removing your 50lbs and replacing with 2.6(which includes this weeks 1.6). Makes great sense as a maintainer. The chart willl be up this time tomorrow:D
Hey sunlight - big welcome to the forum. I know nothing about wifit but do stick around for general weight loss support:j .

Not weight loss related but so happy: my oven died 2 days before xmas and I've just been given one in excellent condition on freecycle:j :j . Don't use it a lot as I have a remoska, but lovely lodgers do and I'm glas to have the option.
LOis -great to hear from you: I'm following your travels too.
DEB: another sw'er here. Well done for signing up. The only way is downward now...I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
missy/ffm/x-raph when you exercise(not that I could ever keep up with the amounts you all do) the cals you burn do you use them as a deficit to eat more or do you eat the same but the exercise looses weight/maintains faster?
I tend to eat the same healthy meals, I don't use exercise as an excuse to eat more (I do feel hungrier but snack on fruit) but if I fancy the odd small treat I will have it. I just have to be careful not to treat myself too much!
I enjoy the exercise thou, the more I do, the more I want to do. I especially love running, something I'd never thought I'd say! In a fortnight I will be buying my ticket for the Plymouth half marathon! So I will have to get some serious training done

Finally got to the gym today, did 25 mins on the exercise bike which I found unusually hard
and even managed to jog the short distance (no more than 400m) there and back whic I found easier than expected!
Think I'm doing okay with my limited food choices although didn't make breakfast (i know this is really bad and I won't do it again). Had a baked potato and beans followed by a breakaway biscuit for lunch, and a cheese and mushroom omelette for dinner. Unfortunately they way they charge for food having extra veggies and stuff gets expensive very quickly but I have some celery to snack on and I'm going to have some peaches too.0 -
Evening All,
What a great bunch of exercisers you guys are on here! Way to go guys! I am in awe.
Sunlight - today I plugged into the Wii Fit for the first time (the kids have been using it since they got it for Xmas), and I've never used the games consoles much before, and admit on the Wii I'd only used the microphone to sing along on Guitar Hero World Tour, so to say I was no expert was a bit of an understatement! Be reassured, it is SO easy. You just pop the game disc into the machine, it then gives you prompts on screen, and verbally what to do, when to switch on the Wii Board, etc. It weighs you, you put in the data for your height/age, etc. It does a basic assessment of your fitness, which isn't exactly up there with a real fitness assessment (based more on your core balance), and if you're not quite sure what to expect, like me, you don't get a great score to begin with!
I switched it on at 9.30am, and I next looked at the clock at 11.10am!! I'd plodded my way through every section, so I did Yoga, Balance, Aerobic, and all the others. I was rather chuffed with myself when my 'personal trainer' commented after my 'pushups' that I was clearly no stranger to fitness! ha ha
Anyway, I can definitely feel that my legs and bum have done some work today, which is what it's all about.
So, I did my weigh in today (although it's only been since last Thursday that I've started, so 5 days in) and I can report a 3lb loss.
I am planning to have Monday's as my regular weigh-in day (as I have a friend who I have agreed to be a slimming buddy with, and we've agreed to do our respective weigh-ins on that day, and text each other our results - we live 150 miles apart).
Ooh, as I find it so interesting to see what everyone else has eaten, here's my intake for today:
B - porridge
L - chunky veg & chicken soup
D - 3 egg omlette, 2 slices lean bacon
Snacks - 100g natural yogurt, 100g sliced cooked apple (unsweetened)
Snacks - mixed nuts approx 50g (high calorie, but good fats & high protein)
Well, I'm off to bed soon, as one of my new healthy options is to get sleep!
I'll be doing a HHE (or hour and half if I don't keep an eye on the time!) tomorrow at about 9.30 if anyone else wants to join in.
S xxOne day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Forgot to post last night, I have now completed 6 days of no choc, more exercise and bed before midnight.
Nite all.
