You can often get her books in charity shops and Ebay. Check out her website first to check which books are current - she has revised her diet over the years and made improvements. The original hip and thigh diet is a bit dated and the new one is definitely better.

Ebay is also good to buy second hand copies of her magazine - often sold unread where the seller has subscribed and then stopped reading them - goodness knows why - I love the recipes.

The magazine always has a kick-start diet in it - intended to be followed for 2 weeks and you should lose 5-7lb. You then up your allowance to 1500 cals for a 1-2lb per week loss.

Her current diet is low fat, low GI, calorie counted (she does this bit for you) and potion controlled (use measuring pots or weigh portions).

Eat 3 meals a day, plus 2 power snacks (love the name :rotfl: ).

The current edition of the magazine has a 36 page recipe booklet in it. The magazine costs £2.55 from a newsagent/supermarket or the subscription is £19.99 for 9 copies + a free gift - this does vary from time to time. When my subscription renewed by direct debit a couple of months ago I was impressed that they sent me the 'free gift' that would be sent for a new subscription - it was portion pots though - and I already have a set of those (not that I use them - I weigh things mostly).

So, you could start following the RC diet for £2.55 (or cheaper from Ebay), it would give you an idea whether you like it or not.

My OH likes the magazines - he scouts through the recipes and tells me what he fancies for dinner - needless to say he doesn't always get what he wants :rotfl: .

    FFM :)

Thanks FFM, will definitely look more into it and try out a 2 week menu plan. Thanks ;)

    Hi Leverton

Basically it is a low fat diet, try not to eat anything over 5% fat, and keep to a reasonable calorie level - this is why I find www.caloriecount.about.com helps as that makes sure I don't over (or in my case under!) do the calories

thanks dragon, this website has a wealth of information and I would recommend it to all who haven't seen it yet :-) Will be making good use of it.

    Many thanks!

oooh, thanks fitorbust, been wanting to try mutton for ages - will have to ask the butcher if he can get it.

you have all been chatty this weekend, hope bb is feeling better today. Beanie, are you looking for a reason to buy a new handbag?!?!?!?!

Feeling relatively good, stayed mostly in control of the eating this weekend. I bought the most comedy book in Glasgow called 101 ways with mince and did a recipe from it yesterday. OH nearly had to have a lie down - swiss roll but made with mince and carrots instead of sponge and jam, and wrapped in bacon. So pretty much a meatloaf really. He's having hte leftovers on sandwiches today. Loving your HHE - impossible for me to join in though, unless anyone wants to join me at 0600 every weekday for one?

Good morning everyone:j This is a flying visit as I am off to SW in a minute to get weighed. Not expecting good news again:o Yesterdays eating was ok but had to change the menu at the last minute. I was going to make a beef casserole cooked slowly in the oven. Took the meat out of the freezer the night before and left on kitchen counter to defrost. When I went to prepare it at noon the next day it was still frozen solid! My kitchen is as cold as the fridge I reckon! So I made a pasta bake and will be having the beef stew tonight instead!

    Todays eating plan:

Breakfast - fruit and yogurt - (free)
Lunch - Left over pasta bake (free)
Dinner - Beef stew with vegetables cooked slowly in the oven plus mashed potatos (free+2heb)
Milk in coffees will be hea

Will report my weigh in results in about 3 hours - wish me luck!

    Love
    Marion
ps - and the knob on my dishwasher is broken - I pushed it in and it went in completely and fell down somewhere inside the door:eek:

I am off work - vomitting - which is good for the weight loss!! Didn't eat anything yesterday. Just WI, but I normally use work scales and not convinced mine are right. So put me down for 2lb. Intended to have big walk over weekend, but first OH spent day ill then I got it.
