Aims for January- I aim to do at least 1/2 hr of exercise every day.
- Keep to my diet
- With the aid of my new pedometer work towards 10000 steps a day
- Encouarge son to stick to a more healthy eating regime

Just wondering if someone could give me a brief outline of how the RC diet works and what it's based on, not ever really heard much about it. Perhaps there's a website that explains it well?
The official website is here http://www.rosemaryconley.com/apps/content/page.asp?itemID=3517
You can often get her books in charity shops and Ebay. Check out her website first to check which books are current - she has revised her diet over the years and made improvements. The original hip and thigh diet is a bit dated and the new one is definitely better.
Ebay is also good to buy second hand copies of her magazine - often sold unread where the seller has subscribed and then stopped reading them - goodness knows why - I love the recipes.
The magazine always has a kick-start diet in it - intended to be followed for 2 weeks and you should lose 5-7lb. You then up your allowance to 1500 cals for a 1-2lb per week loss.
Her current diet is low fat, low GI, calorie counted (she does this bit for you) and potion controlled (use measuring pots or weigh portions).
Eat 3 meals a day, plus 2 power snacks (love the name :rotfl: ).
The current edition of the magazine has a 36 page recipe booklet in it. The magazine costs £2.55 from a newsagent/supermarket or the subscription is £19.99 for 9 copies + a free gift - this does vary from time to time. When my subscription renewed by direct debit a couple of months ago I was impressed that they sent me the 'free gift' that would be sent for a new subscription - it was portion pots though - and I already have a set of those (not that I use them - I weigh things mostly).
So, you could start following the RC diet for £2.55 (or cheaper from Ebay), it would give you an idea whether you like it or not.
My OH likes the magazines - he scouts through the recipes and tells me what he fancies for dinner - needless to say he doesn't always get what he wants :rotfl: .

Hello all HHE'rs I'll join you at 4pm. Not made my mind up what to do yet, it will be dark here so it won't be dog pulling - I'll probably get that done sooner. Might do Wii Fitting if I can get the kids off - they've just invited some of their friends round for a go. So, I might be doing some frantic tidying - tree down, stuff up in loft type activities.
Will report back later.

Here's my weekly summary from this week. I'm going to start including my approx calorie burn counts, these are based on my HRM results. Exercising which don't register in any of the HR zones (such as yoga) is given 0 calorie count but still logged as an activity. My walks have to be over 60 continuous minutes to be included
Each separate activity has its own colour, this is to see at a glance on my spreadsheet that I'm doing lots of different things!
Monday: Jogging - 60 mins (460 cal)
Tuesday: Yoga for Abs - 23 mins (0 cal)
Wednesday: Exercise bike - 60 mins (316 cal)
Friday: Running - 60 mins (532 cal)
Saturday: Walk - 90 mins (366 cal)
Sunday: Cross trainer - 60 mins (388 cal)
Total: 5 hours 53 minutes and 2,062 calorie burn.
This is a fair bit down on recent weeks in terms of effort, mainly because I didn't get out for a longer jog. Not bad for a school holiday week though
Calorie intake will be about 1800 average per day. I ate more than usual on Thursday (planned!) and it's obviously brought the average up. I was fine the rest of the week.
Next official weigh in is 14 January, but all is OK on the scales at the moment.
Everyone: I will be reviewing my 6-monthly exercise objectives at the end of March (I set these for myself on 1 September). I was wondering if anyone would like to join me on that day and formally review progress on any resolutions/targets/goals you're making now?0 -

How are you feeling now BB? A bit better I hope.
Hope you've got a vase for these.
Please can I restart on the chart as 0 loss as from the 7th? I think maybe fresh new year and fresh start might help me get the oomph back - it's just too depressing looking at what I've put on in the last few months.
Still I know it would have been worse without this thread and the fantastic inspirational people here.Going by previous attempts at losing I would normally have put it ALL back on by now. Have been on two long (well long by my standards, not by Missy's) walks yesterday and today and been swimming and made lovely SW free soup (broccoli and cauliflower --- Mr Granny had to leave the room:rolleyes:) so I am trying. Back to work tomorrow and I'm not sure if that makes it easier or more challenging.
Welcome to all the new peeps --- stick around.0 -
BB~ we all know you do your very very best to welcome all the newies & keep them on the straight & narrow!
As we have said before sometimes when things are typed they dont come across quite the same as if we said them.

Happy birthday Raph ....
Those pictures are just TOO amazing. Are you sure they are of the same person? Joking aside, you must completely feel as if you are a different person, and the whole new image you project can't just be the result of being in love.0
