One more thing before I finally get some work done. I bought a pedometer today, I've always wanted one and hopefully it will encourage me to take more steps daily. Are there any websites about that help you to see how many you should be taking daily/weekly? Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks ;)

All done, this is good warm up for when i start the dvd's again :) FFM i guess your dog will sleep all day again, hehe. Annie i remember a thing ages ago saying we should be doing 10,000 steps a day or something

HHE Result: 10 mins of Steps, 5 mins of Tae Bo Boxing.

  • Annie, my understanding is the same as nmm's at 10k steps per day. The worrying thing is that 5 hours of Christmas shopping only clocked up 10k steps. 30mins of fast dog pulling clocks up 3.3k steps, so you would need 1.5hrs of fast walking to achieve 10k steps. I have an office job, but do try and walk around quite a bit, I do find it hard even with a leisurely lunchtime walk to exceed 5k steps on a working day. The good thing with a pedometer is that it encourages you to 'go for a walk' just to get the numbers up.

nmm, HHE Result: 45 minutes leisurely paced walk - dog is now dozing in the hallway, we took a slower pace but same route. Job done.

OH has just set up the Wii in the dining room so that front room is free for TV, PS3 etc - might go for a play. Don't know why we call it the dining room - it's never seen a table and chairs - more of a 'play room'.

    FFM :)

Ok well I will see what steps first proper day back in the classroom brings, I do walk around alot and my classroom is the furthest away from the main hub of the school. I try to take short cuts and I hope the pedometer will encourage me to take the longer route. I will let you all know how I get on Tuesday night.
    Have a good evening
Just looked on ivillage website and they agree that 10000 steps a day will help fitness and weight loss so that will be my aim.
  • Thanks for all the good wishes folks. I having little bursts of decluttering and then resting - thanks for rudolf FFM: it feels like he's sitting on my chest at the mo. I think tis will get a lot worse yet though based on those I've seen in the last month.
Lesley - unfortunately homeopathy doesn't seem to work for me (and I've spent hundreds in the past) I'm on very strong immune suppressants and once I get something can be a bu***r to shake off. I'm always hopeful it'll be different this time.
Well done on the minimal xmas gain FFM - you will definitely get this off within a few weeks, especialy if you keep the exercise going. Sounds like you've solved the over excited dog situation - too shattered now:rotfl:
Kiki - I don't actually need a starting weight as I only log losses - this is so no one feels intimidated by having posting a starting weight that embarrasses them. Also of course, we are all different heights so weight is relative to that.
annie- you could monitor an average days steps and then set small targets to increase rather than going all out for the recommended 10,000 at once. That way you may push your self to get thet extra 100 in per day or what ever and then go for the next increase the following week. Says she, ensconced on sofa:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

If anyone watches the "I can make you thin" prog at 8pm Monday on Living - let me know if it works for you.

I did try reading the book and listening to CD about 2 years ago can't say it had any value for me but would be interested to hear of others' experiences.

Came upstairs to log on to resist eating anything before dinner, need to keeps my hands occupied!

Hi to all, and hope you feel better soon bb. I started the day off well with porridge for breakfast but then took DS2 to my mom and dad's who are both well into their 80's. Mom's mission in life is to feed everyone, LOTS!! (does this perhaps explain my issues with food? lol)
Anyway, ended up with a sausage roll, ham roll and a mince pie, you have no idea what else she wanted me to eat!!
DS2 had 3 sausage rolls, about 4 ham rolls and a mince pie, however as he is 20 and 6'3" he can handle it!
I am thinking of getting a cross trainer, can anyone recommend one? I don't have a huge amount of cash to spend although will probably get one off ebay so hopefully it will go a bit further.
Well done to everyone with their hhe moments! Will have to hurry up and sort this ctrainer out....then I will have no excuse!!:D

Watched it the first time round, best tip that worked for me (for a while!) was the thinking of a food you can't resist then thinking of a food you find disgusting, obviously trying to link the 2 together in your mind. The disgusting 1 for me was cold gravey with hair in it!! ugh!!
