Well done FFM, i am aching all over so i guess the exercise is doing something. Just waiting for my trainers to arrive so i can get doing the dvd's, i think exercising in slippers is a bit silly :rotfl: Petcorner, i was looking at this one on ebay, seems cheap to me, i think its the same one on offer at £70 in argos, not sure though.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0

Re: Cross trainers - when I was shopping for one, I wanted something relatively light and portable so I could scoot it from room to room (so I can sometimes use it when I'm watching tv) and in the back garden (it's lovely in the summer!)
Also I wanted one with a compact 'footprint' because I now have three cardio machines and only a small gym roomNear-silent operation was important to me, and I also went for one which seems to be designed more with females in mind as I'm the only one using it and I'm fairly small!
Drawbacks I found: A pain to assemble (but only needs doing once!) and the theoretical calorie count is so generous it's laughable!!! Other than that - fantastic and still going strong after 18 months of use. Mine is the Kirsty Cross Trainer from Argos.0 -
I'm off to do 30 mins of RC Toning - anyone around to join me???

Hi guys,
I'm a lapsed member from LW 8/9. I did quite well previously, losing around 32lb, but it's been gradually creeping back on over the course of 18 mths.
I'd like to start afresh this year, and am just counting calories, watching my fat/carb intake, and ensuring I increase my exercise. I've had to cancel my gym membership as it increased too much, but I bought the children a Wii & Wii Fit for Crimbo, so am hoping to get onto that once they're back t school next week. I can't get a look in at the moment, unless I volunteer to sing on Guitar Hero World Tour!
I'm using the Food Focus website to track my eating & progress. I wish it were a bit warmer so that I felt more inclined to go out walking/cycling.
So, put me on the chart please BB, and I'll alter my sig to show my new commitment. 5lb here we come! One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
FFM can't do anything too active as I've just eaten but will do 30mins of house tidying to join you.

BB, hope the infection clears up really quick for you. No, I didn't sell the wii fit in the end because my son is using the balance board on a couple of his other games. Shame, I wanted to make my money back
FFM, I was just wondering if you maintain within a range or if you have a single ideal maintain weight? I still think you do extremely well to keep the gains so small, even on slightly less than angelic weeks!Well done!
Tagz, I just looked up the current price for my cross trainer on Argos too and I also paid less. I guess January might not be the time to get the best prices on fitness equipment
After yesterday's running exertions I needed a gentle day so the only exercise I've done is a 90 minute (leisurely) walk with my son. It was great fun!
I'm guessing everyone is more or less back on plan or starting anew now, so GOOD LUCK with your targets!0 -
I was with you in spirit FFM, did you see me on your shoulder :ACross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0

Vicky, thanks for joining me
nmm - not only were you on my shoulder but so was DS14 - he wanted to join me :rotfl: All he did was say things like - well that's not doing anything, ha ha is that it?, well we do this at school - get the picture??? So, why does it hurt?
Missy, I have my 'happy number' which is the weight I like - it is just a number but I try to stay as close to it as possible. I get very miserable if it gets 3-4lb above it. I rarely go below it - in fact I worry if I do. I guess I'm lucky that (so far) my naughty weeks haven't ended up with huge gains - and I can fix them before they get out of hand.
HHE Result: 20mins RC toning
