My OH is similar to your son, when i was doing my steps and boxing, he was saying "what are you doing?" It hurts so it works, well thats my theory. I'm going for a bath soon, i acheCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0

Hello.
I am new to this thread, I have had a brief read though older posted and am amazed at the results some of you have achieved.
I am 25 and a mum of two. I weigh in at an estimated ( i say estimated as i do not own scales) 16/16.5 (max) stone a snug size 18. I am aware you proberbly get lots of new posts in January but i really need help, support and advice to lose weight.
I have tried ww before and lost 18lb in 4 weeks. Then I had an accident and sustained a tri malleolar ankle fracture. So was off my feet for over 3 months. 12 months on and I still suffer a very swollen ankle and stiffness so exercise is very limited.
I desperately want to lose weight, i hate the sight of myself in the mirror i feel ashamed in the school playground for my son, for being a fat mum. I struggle to run and play football with my sons even thought this is there favourite thing. I want to be slimmer and healthier but even though i long for this, i guiltily stuff things in my mouth to compensate.
I feel i have got myself into a rut. I know where the problems lie. I very, very rarely eat breakfast and lunch but then gorge on a big tea and drink 1,2 sometimes 3 glasses of wine every other night.
I am considering starting the rosemary Conley diet next week at a local class but not sure if it is for me. I know ww works as i have done it before, but RC sounds appealing as it has an exercise class also.
I went to see my DR at the beginning of last year and was given xenical but i was too afraid of taking them as I had read about the side effects now Im too scared to go and ask for their advice as i haven't seen the same Dr since.
Even as i write this post im sat here eating. I am determined to lose the weight this year. I know I have 5+ stone to lose and want to sit here this time next year tying away at maintaining my goal weight.
Sorry for busting in on this thread but if anyone can offer any helpful advice and a gentle motivational kick in the right direction I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks

HHE Result: 30mins tidying, a neat lounge and a pile of clean crockery!
Have walked (briskly due to limited parking) for a couple of hours round the city centre. Had a MS weight loser dilema when I tried on a dress in a smaller dress size which looked lovely and then realised it was £70 even in the sale  In the end MS won out over the vanity of dropping a dress size. Although I have my fingers crossed that it may be reduced further as it would be ideal to wear to my friend's wedding in the Spring.0 -
Hi rinroo - I've only just joined this thread too, but everyone seems very friendly and supportive. I have at least 5 stone to lose and am hoping the fact that I have to post my losses or gains each week on here will be a motivator! My diet is starting on Monday when I go back to work.
You have already identified your 'problems' as you put it - maybe doing a menu plan for a week at a time would help. Then you only buy what you need for that and also eat proper meals. Although I don't know how easy that would be with having children as I only have to meal plan for me!!
You've made the first big step by posting on here - I know others will be on with advice and support too."There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

Welcome rinroo :hello:
There are WW peeps on here and RC peeps too - me, I'm RC through and through.
Even though I've lost my weight, I stick on here for the support I need to keep it off - the worst thing is when it all goes back on - it is real sneaky.
I still keep to RC most of the time because it suits the whole family - but I think WW probably does too.
Good luck and keep posting - we'll always try to help if we can.

Hi Corrine/rinroo, I have a shattered ankle (+ other damage!) and cannot walk (other than with crutches), so I know where you are coming from, oh and trust me you do NOT want Xenical (I still suffer from the side effects if I have a little too much fat and this is 5 years on!), I do RC and find it very good (along with tracking my food on Calorie Count dot com), my local agent for the group says she will sort me out some seated exercises when I can get to the class (which would be good), I have lost (and regained!) weight (I regain when I need to take the steroidal anti- inflammatory tablets - along with morphine when the pain is really bad).
If you ask on here anyone that does RC should be able to help you out - especially if you can't get to a group at the moment.Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
